In compliance with new laws in New York City, we’re introducing changes for New York City Dashers, which will go into effect for all Dashers.

What’s new?
  • You can now set a maximum drop-off distance preference for dashing

    You’ll now have the option to set the maximum distance that you’re willing to travel from a store to a customer. Turn your preferences on or off anytime and as often as you want, with no impact on your ratings.

  • Get a free replacement insulated delivery bag

    You can now request a free replacement insulated bag if your insulated bag is worn out, damaged, lost, or stolen.

Set a dashing maximum drop-off distance preference for dashing

Q: What is a maximum drop-off distance preference?

A: A maximum drop-off distance preference gives you the option to set how far you’re willing to travel from a store to a customer. Once set, you’ll only receive trips that satisfy that preference. Using a maximum drop-off distance preference is fully optional, and you can turn your preference on or off as often as you’d like, whenever you like.

  1. Tap the Account tab in the Dasher App

  2. Tap Dash Preferences from the sidebar

  3. To set the maximum distance you’d like to travel from a store to a customer, tap the edit icon and choose your maximum drop-off distance using the + or - icons

  4. You can edit (or remove) your maximum distance preference at any time

Q: Do I have to set a maximum drop-off distance preference?

A: No. This is optional, and you can turn your maximum drop-off distance preference on or off as many times as you’d like, whenever you like. Note that if you limit your distance preference, you’ll limit the amount of orders you’re eligible to receive.

Q: Who is this available to?

A: This is available to all Dashers based in New York City.

Getting a replacement insulated bag

Q: How does it work?

A: If you dash in New York City and your insulated bag is worn out or damaged, or has been lost or stolen, you can email [email protected] to request a free replacement bag. A DoorDash team member will provide you with a unique promo code to order your free new bag from the Dasher Store. You may request a free replacement bag up to once every 6 months.
