Mission Statement

The Voices from Dashers of Color Council (VDC) aims to empower Dashers by creating a safe, inclusive space for them to voice their concerns, share their experiences, and amplify their ideas for improving the Dasher experience for Dashers of Color.

About the VDC

The Voices from Dashers of Color Council (VDC) was formed to provide a space where Dashers can bring light to the unique experiences of Dashers of Color. Council members will also provide feedback on the Dasher experience as it relates to current events, strengthen the Dasher community by escalating community concerns, and shape the future of dashing by contributing ideas and workshopping plans to implement change to the Dashing experience.

Our inaugural cycle consisted of a diverse group of volunteers from the Dasher community. VDC members serve a three-month term as representatives of the broader Dasher community. The VDC is different from the DCC, which focuses on other aspects of Dasher experience on the platform.

The inaugural VDC provided invaluable insights on topics including personal safety, discrimination, and equity. Those insights are helping DoorDash to develop initiatives that benefit not just Dashers of Color, but all Dashers.
