DoorDash for RMH (Modustech) Merchants

7 min de lecture

Overview

RMH (Retail Management Hero) is point-of-sale software used by liquor and alcohol retailers, sold through roughly 30–40 independent reseller/vendor companies. Modustech is one of those RMH resellers, and also acts as the middleware that connects RMH to DoorDash — Modustech's API is the bridge between your RMH POS and the DoorDash Marketplace. Any RMH liquor merchant can integrate with DoorDash through Modustech, regardless of which RMH reseller/vendor you use. You may hear this referred to internally as the "Modustech integration," even though your day-to-day experience is simply "RMH."

New items added to your RMH catalog are automatically captured and built on DoorDash within about a week, and in-store sale pricing can be shared with DoorDash automatically as strikethrough pricing.

Before You Begin

Eligibility

The DoorDash integration for RMH is built for liquor and alcohol retailers running RMH POS software, regardless of which RMH reseller/vendor supplies it.

What You'll Need

  • Confirm you use RMH for your POS.

  • Know your RMH reseller/vendor — the company you'd normally call for RMH support.

  • RMH Database (DB) credentials — your DB username and password. If you don't have these, your RMH reseller/vendor can provide them, or you can look up the username and server details yourself in RMH Store Administrator.

Why DB Credentials Are Needed

Modustech uses your RMH database credentials to access your store's back-end inventory data, validate and pull your catalog for syncing, and issue the store onboarding request that kicks off your DoorDash integration. Credentials are used solely for this inventory sync/setup purpose.

Connect Your RMH Store to DoorDash

Enabling the integration has two parts: submitting the DoorDash Integration Intake Form (with your RMH database credentials), then completing account setup in the DoorDash Merchant Portal.

Submit the DoorDash Integration Intake Form

  1. Navigate to the DoorDash Integration Intake Form: https://orders.modustech.com/doordash/onboarding/request

  2. When asked whether you already have a signed agreement with DoorDash, click Yes if your agreement is already signed. Clicking No takes you to a Net New referral form requesting that a contract be sent instead.

Screenshot 2026-10-09 at 12.37.08 AM
  • Complete the required fields on the DoorDash Onboarding Request form: Partner Store Name, full address, Protocols (tablet/POS, Mx Pick), Contact (decision maker information), and Additional Details (decision maker email). Note: the Expected Go-Live Date field does not determine when you actually go live.

Screenshot 2026-10-09 at 12.38.32 AM
  • Enter your RMH Database (DB) username and password in the Database Credentials section — these are required to move the integration forward.

Note

If you submit incorrect credentials, Modustech will reach out to you directly to get the correct
information before proceeding.

Complete Setup in the DoorDash Merchant Portal (Self Serve Integration
Onboarding)

Once your information and credentials are sent to Modustech, Modustech accesses your store's backend system to send DoorDash your store onboarding request and catalog data. From this point on, you'll handle the rest of onboarding — including signing your contract and tracking progress — inside the DoorDash environment.

1. You'll be directed to the DoorDash account signup page. Enter your basic store information and click Create Account.

2. Select your store type. This determines your commission package and ensures you're set up on the correct vertical internally.

Important

Ensure merchants select Liquor Store (may also appear as Alcohol) as their store type.

Step 3/Store type

3. Enter your store hours — use the same hours for every day or set each day independently. You can update these anytime in your Merchant Portal.

Step 3/Store hours

4. Choose a commission package: Basic, Plus, or Premium.

Signup/DD plan

5. Enter your banking and legal tax information, then select Finish Setup. This automatically creates a closed-won contract and account for your store.

6. Track your progress on the Activation Tracker in your Merchant Portal, which shows all remaining onboarding steps. Once everything is complete, you decide when to activate your DoorDash Marketplace store and start receiving orders.

When Will My Integration Go Live?

  • DoorDash can expect to receive your store onboarding request within 48 business hours of the intake form being submitted.

  • DoorDash currently requires 30 days after the intake form is submitted to integrate a store.

onboarding request within 48 business hours, or if there are data errors in it.

Managing DoorDash Orders

Receiving a New Order

When a customer places an order on DoorDash, the order details are automatically transmitted to your RMH POS system and appear directly in the RMH interface for processing. Store staff can view the order's items, quantities, and pricing in real time.

  • Click the blue Open Order button to view the new DoorDash order.

  • Click OK to move forward, then Confirm to confirm the order.

Confirming, Cancelling, Removing, or Substituting Items

From the DoorDash Order screen in RMH, you can confirm the order, cancel it, remove an item, or substitute an item using the corresponding buttons and icons:

  • Confirm Order — select Confirm Order at the bottom of the screen once you're ready to accept.

  • Cancel Order — select Cancel Order if the order can't be fulfilled.

  • Remove Item — select the trash-can icon next to an item to remove it.

  • Substitute an Item — select the pencil icon next to an item to open the substitute flow.

Managing Inventory in RMH

Locating Inventory Items

  1. Log in to Store Manager using a manager login, or a user account with permission to edit item prices.

  2. Navigate to Merchandising → Items.

  3. Select the item by scanning the barcode, searching by item description, or searching by UPC code.

  4. Double-click the item, or click Edit from the top menu.

Marking an Item In or Out of Stock

The On-Hand Quantity on the Inventory tab determines whether an item is Active or Inactive on DoorDash:

  • Positive balance on hand — Active.

  • Zero (0) balance on hand — Inactive.

  • Negative balance on hand, sold in the last 60 days — Active.

  • Negative balance on hand, not sold in the last 60 days — Inactive.

Editing Item Prices

  1. Open the item's Extended Properties tab.

  2. Locate the DoorDash_Price row.

  3. Click in the Price field and update it.

  4. Save changes once the update is complete.

Screenshot 2026-10-09 at 12.54.15 AM

Mandatory

Items will NOT be sent to DoorDash unless the DoorDash_Visible box is checked. Check the box
for ALL items you intend to sell on DoorDash, then edit visibility afterward for any item you don't
wish to offer.

Integration Help Desk

Individual inventory updates should be made within the RMH POS — changes are reflected automatically in the API feed (pricing, availability, etc.). To update prices, the user must have Manager Permissions within RMH; this is normally standard for the Manager role.

Permissions can be verified within RMH Store Manager:

  1. Go to Setup.

  2. Expand People & Security.

  3. Select POS User Roles.

  4. Double-click the applicable role (for example, Cashier).

  5. Review the available permissions and confirm the selected options in the Cashier Rights section — this shows which actions the role is authorized to perform.
