Virtual kitchens operating on the DoorDash Marketplace will be labeled with a virtual kitchen badge. The virtual kitchen badge indicates a store is a virtual kitchen and will appear when searching on mobile devices or via web.

What is the virtual kitchen badging criteria?

The virtual kitchen badge is one way DoorDash promotes transparency for customers. This informs customers their food is being prepared within a virtual kitchen. 

Your store is considered a virtual kitchen and will receive a virtual kitchen badge if your store meets any of the following criteria:

  • The brand has no established brick and mortar store 

  • The store does not provide a dine-in option for customers

  • The store operates out of a commissary or shared kitchen
