Introducing Individual Dasher Delivery Preferences

Being your own boss means choosing when and how you work. That’s why during the month of August, we will be giving certain Dashers in select markets the opportunity to test a beta feature that allows them to select which delivery offers they’d like to receive on DoorDash.

Q: How does this work?

A: Eligible Dashers in select areas will receive a form where they can select the delivery options they do or do not want to receive offers for. Dashers will no longer see offers for the delivery option types that they opt out of.

Q: What preferences can I set?

A: Participating Dashers will be able to select offer preferences based on merchant type (e.g., Grocery, Convenience, Retail, etc.) and shopping type (e.g. Dasher shop vs. Merchant shop) as well as specific merchants.

Q: When will my preferences go into effect?

A: Preferences will go into effect each Monday for any forms received by Sunday night 11:59PM local time.

Q: Can I change my preferences over time?

A: Yes. Participating Dashers will be able to update their preferences on a weekly basis over the month of August by completing an updated form. Updated preferences will go into effect each Monday.

Q: Need help?

A: It’s unlikely, but if you see an offer that you did not select as part of your preferences, please submit this form and we’ll be happy to assist. 

Q: Is this a permanent change?

A: This test feature will be live in select areas throughout the month of August. Given that it’s a test, this pilot may end at any point.

Q: Will this impact the number of offers I receive?

A: Potentially, depending on when and where you Dash and the type and how many delivery preferences you opt out of. Dashers who are flexible and the most open to different types of deliveries will continue to receive the most offers.

Q: Am I able to set or update my preferences directly in the Dasher app?

A: Not at this time. As this is a beta test of this feature, currently the only way to set or update your preferences is through the link in the email invitation sent to you.

Q: How do I know if this option is available in my area?

A: You will receive a direct notification within the Dasher app and via email if this option is available in your area.
