Overview

For a limited time, we’re offering a pilot feature that gives select Dashers the ability to to opt in or out of various offer types. With Dash Preferences, participants can use toggles to opt-in, and opt-out, of specific offer types.

Q: Who is eligible?

A: Dashers who see the feature in their latest Dasher app are eligible to opt in or out in the Dash Preferences tab. We will also follow up with an email to confirm your eligibility.

Q: How long will this pilot last?

A: This pilot is expected to run for approximately 6-8 weeks for select Dashers in select markets. During the pilot duration, we may modify or end this pilot at any time for any reason, and preference selection is not guaranteed after the pilot has concluded.

Q: How does this work? 

A: Go to your Dash Preferences tab and toggle on or off the following options: Shop & Deliver, Cash on Delivery, and alcohol orders. After you have selected an option, your preferences will be saved. You can change your preferences anytime — before or after a dash, or while you are on a dash. 

  • If you do not make a selection, you’ll receive all offer types.

  • If you opt out of an offer type, you will only receive offers for all remaining offer types. For example, if you opt out of “Shop & Deliver,” you won’t receive orders that require you to shop inside a store, but you will receive all other offer types.

Q: How will preference impact my dashing ratings?

A: Your acceptance rate will not be impacted by opting out of one type of offer. You simply will not receive the type of offers you opt out of. This may impact how many delivery opportunities you get to meet your earnings goals. You may also experience a longer wait time between orders if you elect to opt out. 

Q: Why is DoorDash launching the pilot?

A: We are always testing ways to improve the Dasher experience. With Dash Preferences, you can toggle to choose the types of offers to receive — whether that’s Shop & Deliver, Cash on Delivery, alcohol orders, or other options. 

Q: How can I share feedback?

A: We’d love your feedback and advice on Dash Preferences. You’ll receive a survey email one week after the pilot program has finished.

Q: When will my preferences be activated?

A: Once you opt into an offer type, you can start receiving those offers immediately. However, as always, availability of offers are based on demand in your area and aren’t guaranteed. If you're opted out of a delivery type, you won’t receive those offers.

Q: What does the “high demand” tag mean?

A: It means that type of delivery is popular in your area today. Simply opt in to receive those offers. Tags refresh daily to keep you up to date.
