Dasher Costco FAQs
Dasher Costco FAQs
Overview
Costco orders are Shop and Deliver offers that may require Dashers to:
Review and accept Costco’s Code of Conduct.
Present the in-app barcode to enter the warehouse.
Shop for the Customer’s items.
Use the correct Customer’s Costco membership barcode at checkout.
Pay using the Red Card.
Capture the receipt in the Dasher app.
Deliver the order according to the Customer’s instructions.
Dashers should not use their personal Costco membership, shop for personal items while completing an order, bring unauthorized guests, or use self-checkout unless specifically instructed otherwise.
Costco warehouses may not provide aisle or exact item-location information. Orders may also contain bulk, heavy, or high-value items, so Dashers should confirm that the order can be transported safely before checkout.
Dasher FAQs
Q: What should I do if I cannot enter the Costco warehouse?
A: If the issue is related to the entry barcode, tap the Click here to re-open the entry QR code banner and check if the QR code appears.
If the QR code still does not work, or if you are having another issue entering the warehouse, contact Dasher Support for further assistance.
Q: Does Costco provide shopping bags for DoorDash orders?
A: Costco does not provide standard shopping bags. Use the large cardboard boxes available in the warehouse when appropriate.
Do not purchase bags or use personal reusable bags. Secure loose, fragile, refrigerated, and frozen items before leaving the warehouse.
Q: What should I do if I have poor cellular service inside Costco?
A: Connect to the available Costco Member Wi-Fi, then reopen or refresh the Dasher app.
Q: What should I do if I cannot find an item and no aisle information is available?
A: Confirm that you are at the correct Costco warehouse and working on the correct order. Review the item image, description, size, quantity, and pack count. Check the broader department shown in the app and ask a Costco employee for help.
If the item still cannot be found, report it as unavailable in the Dasher app.
Q: What should I do if the Costco order is too large or does not fit in my vehicle?
A: If you have not completed checkout, you can unassign worry-free through Self Help. If you have already picked up the order, contact Dasher Support.
Q: What should I do if the customer’s Costco membership barcode is missing or rejected?
A: Confirm that you are using a staffed cashier lane.
For a single order, reopen the checkout flow and retry the customer’s membership barcode. Do not use your own membership or another customer’s barcode.
For a batched order, make sure the correct customer order is active. All items for that customer must be scanned under their membership barcode, and the checkout sequence must be completed before moving to another order.
Q: What should I do if I scanned the wrong membership barcode for a batch order?
A: Ask the cashier whether the affected transaction can be voided and restarted. Do not proceed using the wrong customer’s membership barcode. If the transaction cannot be corrected, contact Dasher Support before continuing.
Q: What should I do if my Red Card is declined at Costco?
A: Confirm that you:
Are using a staffed cashier lane.
Scanned the customer’s Costco membership barcode.
Selected debit.
Entered the PIN shown in the Dasher app.
Have the correct order open in-app.
If the payment still fails, contact Dasher Support.
Q: What should I do if Costco did not provide a receipt?
A: Ask the cashier to reprint the receipt. Do not leave without first attempting to obtain it.
If the receipt cannot be provided or the app does not allow you to continue, contact Dasher Support.
Q: What should I do if I uploaded the wrong receipt?
A: Confirm which receipt belongs to the customer.
For batched orders, make sure each receipt is attached to the correct customer. Contact Dasher Support if the wrong receipt was uploaded.
Q: What should I do if the customer is unavailable?
A: Report the customer as unavailable in the Dasher app. Call and message the customer, then wait for 10 minutes near the delivery location.
Q: What should I do if I have an accident, flat tire, or vehicle issue?
A: If the order has not been picked up, you can self-unassign. If the order has already been picked up, contact Dasher Support.
