What is DoubleDash? 

DoubleDash provides customers the opportunity to add items from one nearby store to their main order without paying additional delivery fees (i.e. add drinks or dessert from a different store.)

This option populates after the original order checkout.

How does DoubleDash benefit my store?

DoubleDash shows your store to high-intent customers who are more inclined to impulse purchase since additional delivery fees are waived

If my food is bundled with another order, will it arrive cold and/or soggy? 

Bundling is designed to increase customer satisfaction without compromising order quality. Customers can only add items from one store within a reduced radius of their delivery location — that way, the second stop is always close to the customer.

On average, bundling only adds 6 minutes to the combined delivery times, and customer surveys and interviews show that customers perceive no significant difference in food quality between bundled orders and non-bundled orders.

If customers can order items from other stores, won’t that mean my sales will go down? 

Customers can only order from another store after their initial order is already completed, and they don’t know in advance which stores will be available for DoubleDash. That means customers cannot directly substitute an item from your store with an item from a DoubleDash merchant.

Our testing shows no meaningful reduction in subtotals for the stores from which the customer places their initial order. 

How can I track my DoubleDash orders?

Today, your DoubleDash orders are visible along with your traditional Marketplace and Pickup orders in the Merchant Portal. They are not labeled any differently from your traditional Marketplace orders.

We do not have any flags or filtering in the portal to show DoubleDash orders only, but we are always looking into new features and may add these in the future. 

How do I know if I’m eligible for DoubleDash? 

If you are a restaurant located in the US, you are eligible for DoubleDash

How do I opt in to DoubleDash if my store hasn’t already been included?

Please reach out to Merchant Support to include your store.  

How does DoubleDash affect promotions?

Today, promotions are not surfaced in DoubleDash, but we are always looking into new features and may add these in the future

What hours is DoubleDash available on the DoorDash app and web? 

DoubleDash hours mirror your Marketplace hours. 

Can I limit what menu offers are shown to my customers for DoubleDash? 

The DoubleDash menu mirrors your Marketplace menu. At this time, you cannot create a custom menu for DoubleDash.
