Savings Jar(1) is a new feature designed to help Dashers build a financial buffer, automatically and manually, directly in their Crimson account. Instead of needing a separate app or spreadsheet, you can set aside money every time you dash or add funds whenever you’re ready.
Whether you’re preparing for bills, unexpected repairs, or future goals, Savings Jar helps you build consistency and financial stability. One dash at a time.
How It Works
Choose how to save. There are two ways to grow your Savings Jar:
Auto-Save: Automatically save 1%, 5%, or 10% of every dash payout.
Manual Transfer: Move money from your main Crimson account to your jar anytime you choose.
You can turn auto-save on or off any time, and adjust how much you save based on what works for your budget.
Track your progress. You can view your Savings Jar balance, transaction history, and your auto-save settings.
Everything updates instantly so you always know what’s set aside vs. what’s available to spend.
Repeat. Save. Adjust. Repeat.
Savings Jar is designed to be ongoing and flexible. Dashers can:
Continue saving automatically with each payout
Adjust their auto-save percentage at any time
Manually move funds from your main Crimson account to your Savings Jar as needed

What is Savings Jar?
Savings Jar is a feature that allows Dashers to save by setting aside a percentage of each payout. You can either automatically save a preset amount (1%, 5%, or 10%) that is set aside every time you dash or can manually transfer funds from your main Crimson account to your Savings Jar.
How does Savings Jar work?
Savings Jar helps you set money aside automatically or manually so you can build a buffer over time. You choose how you want to save:
Auto-Save:
Select 1%, 5%, or 10% of every dash payout.
That amount is automatically moved into your Savings Jar after each payout.
You can turn Auto-Save on/off or adjust the percentage at any time.
Manual Transfers:
Move money from your main Crimson account to your Savings Jar whenever you want.
This is a great way to add extra savings when you have a bigger payout.
Your Savings Jar balance is kept separate from your Crimson Available Balance, making it easy to set money aside while still being able to move money back if you need it. Your balance, transaction history, and settings all update instantly in the app.
Are there any fees?
No. There are no fees for Savings Jar.
Who is eligible for Savings Jar?
Savings Jar is available for all DoorDash Crimson accountholders.
Where does the money in my Savings Jar come from?
Money in your Savings Jar can come from your Dasher earnings or any other funds deposited into your Crimson account. You can automatically save a portion of your Dashing earnings, or manually transfer money from your Crimson Available Balance to your Savings Jar at any time.
Can I choose how much I save?
Yes. You can choose from preset percentages and update your selection at any time. Changes take effect for future transfers.
Can I turn off auto-save for my Savings Jar?
Yes. You can turn off auto-save at any time. When turned off, no new money will be added, and your existing Savings Jar balance remains available to you.
Can I withdraw money from my Savings Jar?
Yes. You can move money from your Savings Jar to your main Crimson account whenever you need it. There are no penalties for accessing your stash.
Is there a limit to how much I can save?
There is no minimum required to start saving. Funds in your Savings Jar are included in the $25,000 Maximum Balance allowed for your DoorDash Crimson account.
Does Savings Jar affect my access to my earnings?
No. Savings Jar is designed to work alongside Crimson Instant Pay(2). You still get fast access to your earnings — Savings Jar simply helps you set aside a portion automatically.
Is Savings Jar required to use Crimson?
No. Savings Jar is optional. You can use Crimson for instant access to earnings without turning on Savings Jar.
Can I have more than one Savings Jar?
Currently, each Crimson account supports one Savings Jar.
1 Savings Jar is a sub-account of your DoorDash Crimson Deposit Account; it is not a savings account. You will not receive interest on funds in your Savings Jar. Consult your Deposit Account Agreement for additional details. 2 Earnings deposits typically occur within seconds. There may be times when deposits are delayed or not completed.
