Reimbursement FAQs

DoorDash will reimburse you if you pay for an order with your personal card or cash. This includes instances when you don’t have your Red Card, your Red Card is expired or if your Red Card gets declined.

FAQ

Q: What am I eligible to be reimbursed for?

A: To be eligible to be reimbursed for orders, the following conditions must be met:

  • You contact support within 24 hours or less for a reimbursement

  • Your red card was not used for the payment

  • The store requires payment upon pickup and/or Red Card failure

  • Details of the receipt (date of order, store name, and store address) match the customer’s order

  • The items and number of items listed on the receipt match the customer’s

Q: Do I need to provide a receipt?

A: We can only process a reimbursement for an order without a receipt if it is within 72 hours and the store requires payment upon pickup, or in situations where your Red Card failed.

Q: How do I request a reimbursement?

A: To get reimbursed, simply follow the steps below:

1. Take a picture of the itemised receipt.

  • Ensure the image is clear and includes:

  • Date of order

  • Store name and address

  • Item names, quantities and prices

  • Total amount paid

2. Access the Self Help in your app by clicking the ? icon at the top right corner

3. Select Earnings from the menu options (you may need to scroll across to view)

4. Tap Handling missing pay and reimbursements

5. Tap I paid for an order out of pocket. How do I get reimbursed?

6. Follow the steps to access the reimbursement form link. Complete the form to submit the picture of your receipt to process the reimbursement

Your request will be reviewed within 48hrs and you will be notified via email.

Q: Can I be reimbursed for tolls, parking fees, parking tickets or traffic tickets?

A: DoorDash will not reimburse for tolls, parking fees (including tickets) or traffic tickets. Per the Independent Contractor Agreement, you, as the Contractor, will determine how to deliver using the DoorDash platform which includes where to park to pick up or deliver and the route you will take. Any tolls or parking fees paid or parking tickets or traffic tickets received are at your expense and DoorDash will not reimburse for these items.

Q: Can I be reimbursed for other expenses incurred for/while Dashing?

A: Per the Independent Contractor Agreement, you, as the Contractor, will determine how to deliver using the DoorDash platform. DoorDash will not reimburse for these items. This includes but is not limited to motor vehicle expenses (insurance, registration, fuel, servicing etc), phone and internet use, depreciation, or damages.

Q: Can I be reimbursed for Flybuys points/savings deducted on a Coles order?

A: Dashers are not permitted to scan personal or customers' Flybuys cards during a Shop & Deliver order, whether to collect or redeem points. As such we’re unable to provide a reimbursement in these instances.

Q: How will I be paid my reimbursement?

A: The reimbursement will be added to your earnings, and deposited via Weekly Deposit or the next time you use Fast Pay.
