How to Pick Up Front End or Prescription Delivery Orders at Walgreens

What are the different types of orders I might get from Walgreens?

Prescription orders: these are prescription orders. They must be picked up at the pharmacy counter.

What should I expect when picking up and delivering?

Feel free to park in any available spot that is not marked, then go into the store. Store employees will not come to the “curbside” pickup spots, so the speediest way to pick up the order is by parking and going inside the store.

For Front End Items:

Front End Delivery orders must be picked up at the designated Pickup location inside the store, which is usually at the photo-counter. Look for the Pickup order sign and proceed to the photo counter.

If there is no one at the photo counter, locate an employee and let them know you’re there to collect a COMPLETED PICKUP order scheduled for delivery. Share the customer’s first name, the first 2 initials of their last name, and any order reference details located in the pickup instructions.

The Walgreens team member should locate the customer’s order, process it, place the receipt into the bag, and hand the order off to you. These orders should always be already paid for, packed, and ready for you. There is no need for you to pay for the order with your Red Card. If there are other customers being helped, you have to wait your turn before you are assisted.

For Prescription Items:

Head to the Pharmacy counter and look for signs for “pickup” and proceed to that window. A Walgreens employee will pull the order from behind the counter, verify the order information matches what you have in your app, and hand it off to you to deliver to the customer.

What if the customer is unavailable?

If the order cannot be delivered to the customer after one attempt, contact the customer using the phone number on the Walgreens order summary OR on the shipping label. If you’re unable to connect with the customer, please return the item to the store.

For Front End items - Ask for the Pickup Lead and handoff the bag(s) at the designated Pickup location. They will be able to perform a refund for the order

For Pharmacy Items - Prescription orders must be returned to the pharmacy

Tips for 5 star ratings:

  • Ensure bags are always properly handled.

  • All items must remain inside the bags to protect the customer’s information.

  • All bags with chilled or frozen items are stored in accordance with temperature guidelines and normal delivery procedures within the state.
