How It Works
1. Check for a text from your pharmacy: You’ll receive a message from your pharmacy when your prescription is ready. Open the link that allows you to order delivery directly from DoorDash.

2. Verify prescription details at the top of the screen: The first 3 letters of the medication, your out of pocket cost, and your pharmacy location will be pre-populated.

3. Enter your information to help a Dasher pick up your prescription: After verifying your prescription details, you’ll be asked to provide your first and last name, phone number, address on file at the pharmacy, and delivery address. To ensure there are no issues with delivery, please ensure all of this information matches exactly what the pharmacy has on file. Please note, your address on file at the pharmacy is the address that is associated with your prescription at the pharmacy and is needed to identify your prescription. Delivery address is the address you would like the prescription to be delivered to, and is needed to deliver your prescription to the right location.

4. Select “Continue” to add your prescription to your cart: You will see the prescription added to your cart and have the opportunity to shop for other items from the front of the store.

5. Add any other items from the store as part of the same order: Before you check out, you can add any additional non-prescription items from the store to your order for one easy delivery. As an added benefit, you may be eligible to receive reduced delivery fees when ordering your prescription + non-prescription items together from DoorDash.

6. Place your order: On the checkout page, the “Meet at door” delivery option will be pre-selected. “Leave at the door” is unavailable, as you need to meet your Dasher to provide the PIN to get this order.

7. Meet your Dasher: You must meet your Dasher and provide the PIN code (available on the tracking page after placing your order) to get this order.

Q: Is my prescription delivery secure?
A: Yes. DoorDash does not collect or view information about your medication. Pharmacists are instructed to use opaque, tamper-evident packaging to protect your privacy and medication upon delivery from the pharmacy. You will also be asked to share a unique PIN code with the Dasher to confirm delivery is made to the right person.
Q: How does prescription delivery with DoorDash work?
A: You will receive a text message from your pharmacy with a link to get your prescription delivered with DoorDash. Please follow the instructions in that message.
Q: Can I sign up for prescription delivery on DoorDash without a text message from my pharmacy?
A: Unfortunately, not. You need a text message from your pharmacy with details on DoorDash delivery options in order to get your prescription delivered with DoorDash.
Q: Can I order other items from the store with my prescription delivery?
A: Yes, you will have the option to add additional items from the store when placing an order for prescription delivery. As an added benefit, you may be eligible for reduced delivery fees when adding any non-prescription items from the store to your order.
Q: Do I have to be home to sign for my prescription delivery order?
A: Before checkout, you will see the drop-off option for prescription delivery orders is “Hand it to me,” and you will have the option to add additional drop-off instructions.
A: To ensure your prescription is delivered to you in the most effective and secure way, you’ll be asked to provide a PIN code to the Dasher. You’ll see the PIN code on the tracking page on DoorDash after placing your order, and can share the PIN with the Dasher at drop-off to confirm you received your order.

A: Delivery fees for prescription delivery orders may vary. Open the link in the text from your pharmacy to review delivery fee details.
Q: How long will it take to deliver my prescription?
A: Delivery times may vary by location and are not guaranteed. Estimated delivery times will be provided to you before placing your order. You will also have the option to schedule your prescription delivery for a later time.
Q: How will I know if my delivery is on its way?
A: You will be able to track delivery progress on the DoorDash app or at DoorDash.com, by navigating to the Orders page.
Q: Who do I contact with questions or concerns about my delivery order?
A: For questions about the delivery itself, you can contact DoorDash support through the “Help” button on your order tracking page. For questions about your prescription, please contact your pharmacy directly.
Q: How many stores offer prescription delivery?
A: Currently, prescription delivery is only offered at select pharmacy locations.
Q: Are any medicines not eligible for prescription delivery?
A: Most prescriptions are eligible for delivery. However, some prescriptions are ineligible, including, but not limited to, controlled substances. For more details, please contact your pharmacy directly.
