What is the Single-Use Accessories program?

DoorDash customers have the option to request or decline single-use utensils and accessories. 

What are single-use utensils and accessories?

When an order indicates “no utensils and condiments,” then none of these items are needed. 

Single-use accessories include:

  • Utensils

  • Straws

  • Coffee stirrers

  • Condiment packets

  • Napkins

How will I know if a customer has requested utensils or not?

At the top of each order card in your DoorDash tablet, you will see "Include utensils" or "Do not include utensils".

Why is DoorDash offering this option?

We are committed to working with partners like you, customers, and Dashers to reduce our environmental footprint. 

Where does this new DoorDash program apply?

Currently, this program applies to orders received on a DoorDash tablet in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Boulder, and Vancouver. 

How will customers select whether or not to include single-use accessories?

When placing an order, customers will choose whether or not they want utensils during the checkout proccess.

If they do not make a selection, the default will be to include them.

Do I need to start providing utensils if I didn't before?

No. If your orders do not require utensils today (e.g., pizza), you do not need to start supplying them.
