Overview

DoorDash is piloting a new, optional way for Dashers to take menu photos at select restaurants while they’re waiting and earn extra on top of their delivery pay. Learn more below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is DoorDash asking me to take photos of the menu when I pick up from certain restaurants?

A: When customers get inconsistent or inaccurate menus, it can be a poor experience and can lead to fewer orders. To make it easy for busy merchants who are running their daily operations, we’re piloting a new, optional way for Dashers to take restaurant menu photos at select restaurants while they’re waiting and earn extra on top of their delivery pay.

Q: How will I be paid for my photo?

A: You will see the additional funds in your earnings summary and next payout. You’ll be able to cash them out with DasherDirect’s Instant Pay or Fast Pay for a small fee, or they will be automatically deposited to your bank account the following week.

Q: What if a restaurant asks me to not photograph their menu?

A: No problem, you can skip taking the optional photo and continue picking up the order.

Q: How do I successfully submit menu photos?

A: If you choose to do so, you will see the instructions to take photos in the Dasher app. Simply follow the instructions shown in your app:

You can then take up to two photos of the menu while picking up the delivery (using the photo-taking capability within the Dasher app). You can abandon the photo capture flow to continue with the delivery, if needed.

Q: How many photos do I need to submit to qualify for the incentive?

A: You will only need to submit one photo of the menu to qualify for the incentive. If the menu is longer than one page, feel free to take photos of the first two pages of the menu to submit.

Q: How do I submit menus that are digital or QR code based?

A: You can submit a photo of the QR code or the link to the online menu in case there is no physical copy of the menu.
