Overview
Debt Paydown helps you chip away at what you owe, right from your DoorDash Crimson account. Connect your credit cards and loans, pick one to focus on, and choose a percentage of each dashing payout to make a payment automatically towards your focus every time you dash. You can also make one-time payments to any connected debt whenever you want. There's no fee and no credit score impact to use it.
How It Works
Connect your accounts — Use Method Financial in the Dasher app to link your credit cards and loans from your credit report so you can stay on top of upcoming payments.
Choose a debt to focus on — pick the one you want to pay down first.
Track progress — You’ll be able to see updated balances in your Crimson app so you can track your progress as you pay down your credit card or loan.
Frequently Asked Questions
What debts do I see, and how do I connect them?
The debts shown come from your credit report — things like credit cards and loans in your name. Open Debt Paydown in your Crimson hub, tap on Debt Paydown in the Discover More section, and follow the steps to securely link your accounts using Method. We cannot guarantee Method can find and connect all of your credit cards and loans due to limitations with certain creditors.
Does this affect my credit? Is there a credit check?
Connecting your debts uses a soft credit check, which does not affect your credit score.
What is my debt focus?
Your debt focus is the one you're actively working to pay down. You can auto-pay a percentage of every dash toward it, make one-time payments, or both. Not all cards and loans are eligible to be your debt focus because the lender requires payment on their own site. You will still be able to see and track these in your app.
How do I choose my focus debt, and can I change it?
Pick any eligible debt from your connected accounts — we tag them by highest interest and smallest balance to help you decide, but the choice is yours. You can switch anytime: your Automatic Payment setup moves to the new debt.
How do I make payments?
Two ways, and you can use either or both: turn on Automatic Payments to auto-pay a percentage of every dash toward your focus debt or make a one-time payment anytime from your Crimson balance. You can pause payments or turn off at any time in the Crimson App.
How do Automatic Payments work?
To set up Automatic Payments, select the percentage of your earnings you want to set aside towards your debt payment. After each dash, once your earnings are added to your available balance a payment will be made to your focus debt based on the percentage you chose. There is a $1 minimum per dash so if your chosen percentage works out to less than $1, we'll send $1 instead. You can change your percentage, pause, or resume anytime; changes apply to your next dash.
When will my payment reach my lender?
Payments typically post to your lender within 1–5 business days. You can confirm the payment status on your lender’s site.
Where does the money come from, and what happens on a slow week?
Payments come from your Crimson balance and Automatic payments only send money directly from your recent dash.
Is there a fee?
No. There's no fee to connect your debts or to make payments through Debt Paydown.
What happens when a debt is paid off?
When your focus debt hits zero, Automatic Payments stop automatically and we'll let you know. You can then pick a new debt to focus on.
Can my minimum payment change?
The minimum amount due is set by your lender and can change month to month based on your balance, promotional periods, or account terms.
What happens if my minimum or balance information is incorrect?
Contact the individual lender to discuss accuracy of information.
Can I pay more than the minimum amount?
Yes, you can continue to make automatic payments after every dash or one time payments towards a debt until the total balance is paid off.
If I make a one time payment, will my automatic payments be turned off?
No, a one time payment does not change automatic payments. Automatic payments stay on until you turn them off, or until the debt balance is paid in full.
If I set up automatic payments, how much of each payout goes toward my debt?
If you earn $50 and choose to put 10% towards debt payments, you'll automatically pay $5. However, each debt payment must be at least $1, so a $5 earnings payout sends $1 to debt, not $0.50.
