Drone Delivery
DoorDash has partnered with Wing, Flytrex, and Manna to offer drone delivery from select local restaurants in eligible areas. Drone delivery is currently available in parts of Dallas–Fort Worth, TX, and Charlotte, NC.
Availability depends on your address and local conditions.
How do I place a drone order?
Find a drone-eligible store on the DoorDash homepage using banners or the drone filter.
Add items to your cart. Smaller orders are more likely to qualify due to drone weight and size limits.
Confirm you have a drone delivery zone at your address.
Select your delivery zone.
Choose Drone at checkout.
Track your order in the app and watch it fly to you.
What is a drone delivery zone?
A drone delivery zone is a safe, designated drop-off area at your location that meets operational requirements.
If your address does not currently qualify, you can request a delivery zone by emailing [email protected]. While we aim to support as many addresses as possible, not all locations will meet eligibility requirements.
When is drone delivery available?
Drone delivery hours may vary throughout the year, but service is generally available during daylight hours.
Availability may be temporarily paused due to weather or other conditions that impact safe flight.
What items can be delivered by drone?
Drone deliveries are subject to weight and volume limits.
Some items or item combinations may not qualify.
Alcohol is not eligible for drone delivery at this time.
How does drone delivery work?
You place an order just like any other DoorDash delivery — selecting items, adding them to your cart, and tracking progress in the app.
Once ready, your order is loaded onto a drone at a nearby launch site and flown directly to your delivery zone.
The drone gently lowers your package to a clear area at your location.
How do I receive my order?
When the drone arrives, it will hover and lower your order using a tether.
The package is automatically released once it touches the ground. There’s no need to unclip or assist with the delivery.
For safety, please wait until the tether has fully retracted before touching your order.
Please note, it’s very important not to touch the package until after the tether line has safely retracted.
