Where can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) benefits on DoorDash?
HSA and FSA participants can use their benefits at select merchants offering HSA/FSA eligible health items on DoorDash. Eligible health items are marked as “HSA/FSA Eligible” within store pages on DoorDash. Note: Health item eligibility may differ by plan. Be sure to check with your plan’s administrator to confirm if an item is eligible before making a purchase. Medicare Advantage OTC cards are not supported.

How It Works
Add your HSA or FSA debit card: Go to the Account tab and access your Payment Methods via Account Settings. Select “HSA/FSA” under “Add payment method,” then input your HSA or FSA debit card details to save it as a payment method. Note: Your HSA/FSA card cannot be set as your default payment.

Remove your HSA or FSA debit card: Go to the Account tab and access your Payment Methods via Account Settings. Find your HSA or FSA debit card and swipe to the left, then select “Delete.”

Shop for HSA/FSA eligible health items: Look for items marked as “HSA/FSA Eligible” on store pages at select merchants. You can also filter search results and category page results for eligible items within the store page.

Use your HSA or FSA debit card to check out: If you’ve added an HSA or FSA debit card to your payment methods, you will see the option to use it when checking out with eligible items from select Mx. Be sure to select “ Use card” to use your HSA or FSA debit card, otherwise, your default payment method will be used for the full total. Your HSA or FSA debit card must always be paired with a default payment method, which will be used to pay for tip and order adjustments, as well as non-eligible items and their associated taxes and fees.

DoorDash is a member of the Special Interest Group for IIAS Standards (SIGIS), a non-profit responsible for maintaining the industry standard for acceptance of FSA, HRA, and HSA debit cards. DoorDash relies on SIGIS’s eligible product list and private label guidelines for determining HSA/FSA eligibility. Eligibility can vary based on each HSA or FSA plan’s policies and we cannot not guarantee that all items tagged on DoorDash will be approved by each individual plan. Consumers should contact their plan administrator to confirm that items designated as HSA/FSA eligible on DoorDash qualify as eligible health items under their plan.
Can I purchase HSA/FSA eligible items and non-eligible items at the same time?
Yes, at checkout you can use your HSA or FSA debit card to pay for the eligible health total and use your default payment method for the remaining ineligible balance and any tips.
Can I use a promotion code on orders where an HSA or FSA card is applied?
Yes, promotion codes are eligible on orders where a HSA/FSA card is applied. Simply enter your promo code at checkout.
What if there is an adjustment to an item I purchased with my HSA or FSA card?
If an item you purchased with a HSA or FSA debit card is not found, the funds will be returned to your HSA or FSA debit card. If an item is substituted with a lower price item, the difference in price will be refunded to your HSA or FSA debit card. If an item is substituted with a higher price item, the difference in price will be charged to the default payment method saved in your DoorDash account.
Can I add multiple HSA or FSA debit cards to my payment methods?
No, we can only support one HSA or FSA card for each account at this time. If you already have an HSA or FSA card saved in your payment methods and would like to use a different one, first remove your saved HSA or FSA card, and then add the desired card to your payment methods to use for eligible items during checkout.
How is the HSA/FSA eligible amount calculated on my DoorDash receipt?
HSA/FSA spending summary includes health eligible items and their associated taxes and fees. Tips are not eligible. Exact eligibility may differ by plan.
Can I specify what portion of the HSA/FSA eligible amount I would like to fund from my HSA or FSA debit card?
Yes. You can edit the amount to be applied to their HSA or FSA debit card. The applied amount must be less than or equal to the eligible amount and your card must have sufficient funds for the applied amount. Contact your plan administrator to check available funds on your HSA or FSA card.
Is there a deadline to use my HSA and FSA funds?
HSA funds roll over year to year if you do not spend them all, meaning there is no deadline by which you need to use your funds. FSA funds typically expire at the end of each calendar year, although some plans may allow you to carry over a certain amount to the next calendar year or may allow a limited grace period for you to spend your remaining funds. Please check with your FSA plan administrator to understand your plan’s policy on unspent FSA funds.
Can I still submit my receipt for reimbursement from my HSA/FSA plan administrator if I do not pay with my HSA/FSA debit card?
Yes, you can work with your plan administrator for reimbursement using the receipt emailed to you or found in the app. Reimbursement guidelines may differ by plan. You can find more details HERE.
Can I use my Medicare Advantage OTC card?
No, Medicare Advantage OTC cards are not currently supported.
