Business Reports Overview

6 min de lectura

Business reports provide a comprehensive view of how your brand is performing across DoorDash, including both paid and organic performance. Advertisers can access business reporting in Ads Manager or generate via direct API access.

Access to Business reporting

In order to have access to business reporting, you must first confirm that your Catalog is up to date.

If you don't yet have access:

  1. Review your catalog in Catalog Manager to confirm that all items and brands are correctly set up.

  2. Contact your DoorDash representative to request access. Your DoorDash representative can also help implement catalog updates if needed.

What Business reports measure

Business reporting focuses on key metrics and performance indicators such as:

  • Total sales

  • Orders or units sold

  • Average order value (AOV)

  • Performance trends over time

Ads Manager provides several Business report types to help you understand sales performance, competitive share, and interest insight trends

Sales report

This report shows your business's overall sales at the item level. It helps you see how each of your products is selling on DoorDash, the store type where the item is sold, total orders and units, and more.

By default, the report includes the most detailed view with all breakdowns selected. You can customize the report before creating it.

How to generate Sales reports

  1. Toggle to the Business report type and check Sales

  2. Select a date range: Choose which date granularity you would like to view along with the start and end dates you would like to pull data for

  3. Customize your report: Select what granularity you would like to view

    1. Item (Product Name, UPC, GTIN): Select if you would like to view an item level report

    2. Brand: Select if you would like the brand to be included in your report

    3. Vertical (Store Type): Select if you would like to include this metric in your report

    4. Retailer: For select advertisers, a retailer-level breakdown is available to download sales and unit performance by retailer. Please reach out to your account manager for more details.

  4. Name your report

  5. Select Create Report

Date, sales, orders, and units are always included in every report. Note that available date options may vary depending on your partnership.

Category Share report

The Category Share report shows your brand's share of the product category based on industry standard NielsenIQ or Circana definitions. This report gives you data about your brand's total sales, how much share your brand has on DoorDash relative to other brands in your category, and more.

Category data is based on either NielsenIQ or Circana category definitions. You can select your preferred data provider in the integrations page under Settings.

This report includes:

  • Your total sales, impressions, and units

  • Your share of the category compared to other brands based on industry-standard definitions

How to generate Category Share reports

  1. Toggle to the Business report type and check Competitive share

  2. Select a date range: Choose which date granularity you would like to view (weekly vs. monthly), along with the start and end dates you would like to pull data for

  3. Customize your report

    1. Select between one of two category definition providers, NielsenIQ and Circana

      1. Circana: Select data breakdowns based on brand, vertical (store type), and category

      2. NielsenIQ: Select data breakdowns based on brand, vertical (store type), and category. Note: Alcohol businesses should select Category if you would like to see a more granular category level share report rather than a Super Category level share report.

  4. Retailer: For select advertisers, a retailer-level breakdown is available to download share performance by retailer. Please reach out to your account manager for more details.

  5. Name your report

  6. Select Create Report

Date, Department, Super Category or Category (depending on the provider), Sales, impressions, units and Share for sales, impressions, and units, are included in every report.

You can manage your preferred category data provider at any time by going to the Integrations page under Settings in the left-hand menu. You can also preview your super-category and category structure based on NielsenIQ and Circana definitions. For any inaccuracies, please contact your DoorDash sales representative.

Interest Insights report

The Interest insights report helps advertisers decide which dishes to choose when using Dish Interest Targeting by showing how their brand performs across different dish segments. Advertisers can use this report to focus on the dish audiences most likely to convert and optimize their campaigns for stronger results. Note: Interest insights are not available to International advertisers.

A key metric in this report is interest rank, where a higher rank indicates stronger performance.

Interest Rank

Interest rank measures how strongly different dish segments convert for your brand relative to others. It's based on a brand affinity score, which compares how likely shoppers in a given segment are to purchase from your brand versus those outside the segment.

Segments are ranked from highest to lowest conversion performance, with 1 representing the strongest-performing audience. Use interest rank to prioritize high-performing segments for targeting and identify lower-ranked segments to test for growth opportunities.

Dish segments with insufficient data may not appear in your report.

How to generate Interest insights reports

  1. Toggle to the Business report type and check Interest insights

  2. Select a date range

    1. Choose the start date and end date for the reporting period you would like to analyze

  3. Customize your report: Select the dish breakdown

  4. Name your report

  5. Select Create Report

Brand name and dish segment with interest rank are included in every Interest Insights report by default. Dish segments are ranked based on your brand's affinity score and relative conversion strength to help guide interest targeting decisions.

Important notes about Business reports

When using Business reports, it's important to understand how data is structured, updated, and included so you can interpret results accurately.

  • Data availability and timing: You can select a custom date range for any date in the past three years. The most recent data available is typically from two days prior to the current date, ensuring that each day's data is complete and reflected in your report.

  • Historical data consistency: Historical data is locked and will not change. Quarterly restatements are released at the beginning of each quarter to reflect catalog or data updates from the previous quarter's full data.

  • Data coverage and inclusion: Business reports include data for all items in DoorDash's catalog that are linked to your brand(s) and sold through a retailer on the DoorDash marketplace.

  • Category Share reporting: Category Share reports include all brands with at least one impression, represent dollar ($) share within a category, and may exclude some products if they aren't mapped to a category due to data mapping limitations.

How to access Business reports via API

DoorDash Ads API allows advertisers to programmatically create, optimize, and report on campaigns at scale. Advertisers can connect directly to the DoorDash Ads API to generate and download Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands performance reports as well as Business Reporting data. If you already manage your DoorDash campaigns through a third-party platform check with your platform provider on if they support pulling business reporting data.

Access & Set Up

To request API access for business reporting contact your DoorDash representative or support.adsapi@doordash.com to request an API Bearer token. Your team may need to sign an API agreement prior token access. Once your agreement is in place, you'll receive an onboarding email with everything you need to connect.

For full endpoint and report details, see the DoorDash Ads API Documentation.
