Adding Alcohol to Your Menu on DoorDash
How do I offer alcohol in my DoorDash store?
If you’re considering expanding your restaurant's offering to include alcohol, you will need to do the following:
Make sure you already have a valid liquor license to facilitate alcohol delivery in your state. You are required to have the appropriate license that allows alcohol delivery in order to add alcohol to your menu.
Go to your menu manager in the Merchant Portal, scroll down the page, and click “Review the required steps.”
Sign the alcohol addendum and fill out the required information.
Add alcohol items to your menu and ensure the alcohol tag is applied to each individual item.
How do I mark an item as containing alcohol?
You can mark an item as containing alcohol after you've signed the alcohol addendum and have access to the menu editor.
When adding or editing an item, tap “This item contains alcohol.”
Prefer help? You can also submit a menu update request through the Help tab in the Merchant Portal. Tap Request a Menu Update, and the menu team will tag alcohol items during review.
Why can't I add alcohol to my DoorDash menu?
The most common reasons you can't add alcohol to your DoorDash menu include:
Your location isn't in an alcohol-approved province
The alcohol addendum hasn't been signed
Your request is still under review
Check your area's eligibility and confirm your account status in the Merchant Portal.
How does DoorDash verify a customer's legal drinking age?
To verify a customer's legal drinking age, DoorDash uses multiple safeguards.
Customers must confirm they are of legal drinking age before checkout
At delivery, the Dasher uses the Dasher app ID scanner to verify the recipient's ID
If the ID scan fails (for example, the customer is underage or the ID is expired), the Dasher App notifies the Dasher to return the items to the store.
