Large Order Program: Catering Bag Onboarding Process FAQs
This article only applies to Australian and Canadian Dashers.
Overview
The Large Order program rewards Dashers enrolled in the program the opportunities to receive more high-value orders during any regular dashes they take. Dashers will receive these offers when there’s a high-value order in their area. These deliveries represent all large orders on the platform (including some catering deliveries) but cannot be scheduled in advance.

Q: What benefit do I get from this program?
A: High-value orders often mean bigger tips. Orders in this program have the potential to pay 2x - 3x as much as a regular order*. Dashers will have to consistently maintain the qualification criteria below to be eligible for these high-paying orders.
Q: Do I need any special equipment to join this program?
A: High-value orders often have more items, making these deliveries slightly more challenging to deliver. Due to the need to carry a larger amount of food, DoorDash requires Dashers to have at least one catering bag in order to be eligible for this program. Q: How do I start getting large orders after enrolling in this program?
A: With your catering bag in hand it’s easy — just do what you do best. Your dashing experience will look and feel the same once you are enrolled in this program. The key difference is you will start to receive more opportunities to accept large order assignments.

For large orders, you’ll see a catering bag label before you accept. These extra assignments occur because when multiple Dashers are available we will assign large orders to Dashers in this program. Simply hop on the road and accept the deliveries when they are assigned - there is no need to schedule these deliveries in advance.

A: In order to qualify for this Large Order program, Dashers must meet the two requirements below:
Requirement 1: Quality Eligibility Criteria: you must meet the criteria below (measured as of the most recent full month).
200+ lifetime deliveries
100+ deliveries in the past month
4.7+ average star rating in the past month
95%+ completion rate in the past month
Note: To remain eligible for this program, you must continue to meet these criteria after you are enrolled in this program. Eligibility criteria are subject to change.

Enrolling
Q: How do I qualify, how do I join the program?
A: Follow these steps:
Step 1: Receive an invitation email
This program is currently only available by invite. DoorDash will invite Dashers via email who meet the criteria listed above and dash in areas where additional Dashers are needed to fulfill large orders.
Step 2: Verify that you have a catering bag
Once you receive the invitation email, you just have to confirm that you have the necessary equipment to complete large orders. Details on how you can confirm that you have a catering bag are below.
Step 3: Confirmation
DoorDash will review your submission and send you a confirmation email if you are eligible. Once you are approved, you are eligible to start receiving large order assignments immediately.
Note: Not every market is in need of more Dashers to do Large Order deliveries. If you meet the minimum requirements but have not received an invitation to sign up, your area likely has enough Dashers already. An invitation to sign up will be extended once more Dashers are needed!
Q: How do I get a catering bag?
A: You have two options to obtain a catering bag:
Option 1 - Purchase a DoorDash-branded catering bag from the DoorDash Store
You can use one of the links below to purchase a catering bag from the DoorDash store.
Option 2 - Purchase a non-DoorDash branded catering bag from a 3rd party
You can purchase a non-DoorDash branded bag from any third party (including other delivery services) as long as the bag meets the catering bag standards listed below. Example non-branded bags that meet these standards can be found here and here.
Q: How do I confirm that I have a catering bag?
A: Option 1: Purchase a catering bag at DoorDash Store with a promo code.
You’ll be auto-enrolled into the program if you use the email address associated with your Dasher account to purchase a catering bag from the DoorDash store with the promo code from your invitation email. You will receive a confirmation email within five business days of your purchase to let you know when you are eligible to receive large orders.
Option 2: Purchase a catering bag at DoorDash Store without a promo code
If you purchase a catering bag from the DoorDash store, you will need to send us a picture of your catering bag to review. Photos must be submitted using a form that is included in the onboarding invitation email. We’ll review your submission within five business days and confirm your eligibility. The photo submission process and standards are detailed below.
Option 3: Purchase a non-DoorDash branded bag
If you purchase a non-DoorDash branded catering bag, your bag must meet the catering bag standards listed below and you will need to send us a picture of your catering bag to review. Photos must be submitted using a form that is included in the onboarding invitation email. We’ll review your submission within five business days and confirm your eligibility. The photo submission process and standards are detailed below.
Q: What are the catering bag submission standards?
A: Please submit a clear photo of your catering bag in your possession (not a stock photo from a website; we need to be able to tell if the bag is in your possession.)
Your catering bag needs to be:
Insulated
Standard catering bag size (At least 22" W x 14" L x 13" D)

Q: What if I have more catering bags now?
A: If you are not yet in the program, you can let us know by including all of the catering bags in your picture submission.
If you are already in the program, and purchased more catering bags there is no need to contact support.
Q: What if I have an issue redeeming my promo code?
A: Double-check to make sure you’re using the right promo code. If it’s still not working, keep the following in mind:
The promo code may have expired.
Only one promo code is redeemable per purchase.
The promo code is not transferable and may only be used by the person who received the promo code.
Promo codes can't be applied to a previous purchase.

Q: How do I know if I’m receiving large orders after enrolling in this program?
A: These high-value order offers to look similar to regular offers (some may be group orders that are individually packaged or corporate catering orders) but will have an order subtotal above $100, typically with a larger item count, but cannot be scheduled in advance.

Q: Is it possible to be removed from the program?
A: To remain eligible for this program and receive these typically high-paying orders once you are enrolled, you must continue to meet the eligibility criteria. Eligibility criteria are subject to change. If you no longer meet the eligibility requirements, we’ll let you know via email that you’ve been removed from the program.
Q: Is it possible to opt-out of large deliveries?
A: You are free to accept or decline any delivery opportunity you are offered. It’s possible to opt-out of large delivery offers, please reach out to the Dasher support team if you need further assistance.
*Getting paid more for large orders is based on average Dasher payouts nationwide in the last month while on a delivery, as compared to a marketplace delivery order with a subtotal below $100. Actual earnings may differ and depend on factors like a number of deliveries completed, time of day, location, and expenses.
