Dasher Emergency Contact
Overview
We hope every dash goes smoothly, but we’re here to help if things don’t go as planned. Your safety is our top priority, so you can now add the contact details of someone you trust so we can reach them if there’s an emergency while dashing and we’re not able to reach you. Simply head to the Emergency Contact Details section of the Profile tab in your Dasher app account.
When you enter and save your emergency contact information, you expressly agree and consent to Doordash, in the event of an emergency, providing information to your emergency contact, including but not limited to your name or identity, the nature of the emergency, and your location.

Q: What is an emergency contact?
A: An emergency contact is a person you choose who DoorDash may contact in the case of an emergency when we are unable to reach you while Dashing.
Note that when you enter and save your emergency contact information, you expressly agree and consent to Doordash, in the event of an emergency, providing information to your emergency contact, including but not limited to your name or identity, the nature of the emergency, and your location.
Q: Who should I add as my emergency contact?
A: You may add any person you know as an emergency contact. We recommend someone you trust who lives in your area.
Q: When will DoorDash use an emergency contact?
A: In the case of an emergency, DoorDash’s Safety team will reach out to you directly first. If we are unable to reach you, we will reach out to your emergency contact in the following circumstances:
Death
Hospitalization
Severe injury
Imminent harm such as a catastrophic event
We have reason to believe an emergency has occurred
Q: What information will DoorDash share with my emergency contact?
A: Below are the list of information DoorDash will pass along to the emergency contact.
Who we are calling about
General nature of the emergency
Current location information (for example, the hospital you are in)
In rare circumstances, we may share your last known location
For privacy reasons, DoorDash is only able to share information about you and cannot share information related to other individuals.
Q: How can I add an emergency contact?
A: You can add emergency contact by following the steps mentioned below:
Open the Dasher app
Tap on the icon at the bottom of the screen labeled “Account”
Under “Profile,” scroll down to “Emergency Contact.”

Fill in all fields for the emergency contact and tap “save.” You will be prompted to enter a verification code, which will be sent to the email you used to sign up. If you prefer a text message, tap on “Send to Mobile.”

Enter the verification code and tap on “submit.”
Q: How can I edit or remove an emergency contact?
A: You can edit/remove emergency contact by following the steps mentioned below:
Open the Dasher app.
Tap on the icon at the bottom of the screen labeled “account”
Under “Profile,” scroll down to “Emergency Contact.”
Update or delete the emergency contact information
Tap on the “save” button.
