Q: I received an email mentioning a bonus amount if i verify my documents. When will I receive my bonus payment?
A: If you correctly submit your valid documents before the date mentioned in communications to you and they are approved, you will receive the bonus payment mentioned in the communications sent to you in your regular Dasher pay within 30 days. Payment will only be made to Dashers who have completed at least one delivery on the DoorDash platform.
If you submit after the date mentioned, you will not receive the bonus payment, but will still unlock offers from new national merchants!
Q: Why do I need to submit my driver licence and vehicle registration certificate?
A: Verifying these documents will ensure you receive more orders on DoorDash. We have recently introduced new national merchants to our platform, and they require only verified drivers to complete their deliveries.
Q: When will I need to complete my Dasher driver information verification?
A: You will be sent an email asking you to submit your driver licence and vehicle registration documents for verification.
Q: How long will it take to verify my Dasher driver information?
A: This process usually only takes a few minutes, but it may take 14 business days or longer for your documents to be reviewed and verified. You will be notified of the outcome via email.
Q: How do I update my licence and vehicle registration
A: IMPORTANT: Ensure you are using the latest version of the Dasher app.
1. Tap the notifications icon in the Dasher app
2. Follow the prompts to upload your drivers licence and vehicle registration

Q: How does Dasher driver information verification work
A: To verify your Dasher driver information in a secure way, DoorDash has an in-app verification process. In order to keep your personal information and account secure, DoorDash will only ask you to verify your identity through the Dasher app. When prompted, you will be asked to upload your driver documents:
A valid New Zealand full driver licence:
No international, or provisional licence accepted.
Proof of current valid vehicle licence (rego)
This can be from your NZTA rego reminder, a physical rego label or a screenshot of your rego label from the NZTA App or nzta.com
If you fail any of these verification steps, you will be given the option to try again. After several failed attempts, however, your documents will be sent to our internal team for manual review. While your driver documents are being reviewed and verified, you will not have access to orders from new merchants on our platform.
Please do not submit any personal information about yourself to anyone claiming to be from DoorDash or Persona, and do not respond to any communications from anyone other than DoorDash or Persona.
Q: How are my documents used and stored?
A: Your information - including sensitive personal data - will be stored by DoorDash or its vendors such as Persona for purposes of identity verification. Your data will be permanently deleted after it is no longer necessary.
For more information about how we keep your data secure, please visit our Privacy Policy.
Q: What kind of documentation do I need?
A: At this time, you are required to use current and valid government-issued documentation:
A valid New Zealand full driver licence:
No international, or provisional licenses accepted.
Proof of current valid vehicle licence (rego)
This can be from your NZTA rego reminder, a physical rego label or a screenshot of your rego label from the NZTA App or nzta.com
The following documents will NOT be accepted:
General info | Driver Licence | Vehicle registration documents |
Any expired documents Photocopies or screenshots of original documents (Screenshots from the NZTA app are acceptable) Documents not in English | International driver licences Learner or Restricted Phase licences ID types other than a driver licence (E.g. Passport, citizenship certificate, certificate of identity etc.) Temporary paper driver licences | Insurance documents Warrant of Fitness (WoF) documents Car licence plates |
Q: I have an international driver licence. Is this acceptable?
A: At this stage, only valid New Zealand licences will be verified. If you hold an international driver licence, you will still be able to dash but will not have access to any orders that require driver information to be verified.
If the international driver licence is not in English, you must carry an accurate English translation
Q: The vehicle I Dash in is not in my name. Does this matter?
A: No. We just require that your driver licence is valid and in your name, and has a valid registration letter or label
Q: What happens if I don’t verify my driver licence or registration?
A: You will still receive orders as normal on the DoorDash platform, but will not have access to orders from any merchants who require a verified driver licence and vehicle registration.
Q: What happens if I fail the verification process?
A: If you cannot successfully verify your identity, you will not have access to orders from any merchants on our platform who require driver information to be verified.
Q: It says my documents are under review - what does this mean?
A: Your documents could not be verified automatically by our systems and are under manual review. It may take 14 business days or longer for your documents to be reviewed and verified. You will be notified of the outcome via email.
Q: What suggestions do you have to help me verify?
A: You can verify by following the suggestions mentioned below:
General tips
Make sure the lighting in the room is bright enough to capture the document details
If there is glare in your photo, move away from direct light to reduce glare
Make sure the text on your document is clear and readable (and not worn)
Make sure you are not covering any part of the document (e.g. with your finger)
Move the document as close to the camera as possible, while making sure all four corners are captured within the photo
Make sure the image is not blurry
Make sure the photo of your face on the ID is visible
If your camera quality is poor (e.g. the image is grainy or small) or you do not have a camera on your device, you can upload a photo of your ID and make sure it meets the above requirements. You can also text message or e-mail yourself a link to continue on your phone with your phone's camera.
For a driver licence:
Make sure the photo of your face on the ID is visible
Reduce glare by moving away from direct light and not using flash
