1. How to tell if the order contains Alcohol
You’ll know if the order contains alcohol before you accept it—look for the “contains alcohol” banner.
Note that Dashers must be 18 years or over of age to deliver orders containing alcohol.

2. Drop-off instructions
When delivering alcohol, you must follow each step in the Dasher app. You’ll be prompted to scan the recipient’s ID to verify their age and confirm that they have a valid ID BEFORE you hand over the alcohol. The acceptable forms of identification can be found in this article. You are also required to check for intoxication, as it is illegal to serve alcohol to intoxicated recipients.


3. Scan the recipient’s ID
Follow the instructions in the Dasher app to scan the recipient’s ID. If the scan is successful, you will move to the next step. If the scan is unsuccessful, please follow the instructions in the Dasher app. When scanning the recipient’s ID, please ensure that you have mobile reception and avoid scanning the ID on a dark surface (please use the flash option if lighting is poor).


4. Verify the photo on the ID
Verify that the photo on the ID is the person you’re delivering the alcohol to. Confirm by tapping ‘Verify’. If you cannot confirm, tap ‘Can’t verify’ and follow the instructions in the Dasher app. Please also ensure that the recipient receiving the order is showing no signs of intoxication.


5. Complete the delivery
Once you’ve completed all the steps, hand the order to the recipient and tap “Complete delivery” in the Dasher app.

For alcohol deliveries, recipients may ask additional questions in relation to the identification and verification process. To assist, below is a list of potential questions that you may be asked and recommended answers to help you in these circumstances:
Q: Why do you need to see my ID and scan my ID?
A: We need to verify that you are at least 18 years old and that your ID is a valid government issued ID.
Q: Will you take a photo of my ID?
A: No, we will not take any photos of your ID.
Q: What happens if I refuse to let you see my ID or do not provide my ID details?
A: I am not allowed to complete the delivery and a refund will not be issued.
Q: What happens if I don’t have any ID?
A: I am not allowed to complete the delivery and a refund will not be issued.
