Scheduling in NYC: When and how far ahead you can book shifts
Overview
In New York City, scheduling works a little differently. Your Dasher Rewards tier can affect how far in advance you can book shifts, and new shifts typically become available at a consistent daily time.
How far ahead can you schedule (by tier)
Your tier determines the earliest day you can schedule:
Platinum Dashers: up to 6 days in advance
Gold Dashers + New Dashers: up to 3 days in advance
Silver Dashers: up to 2 days in advance
Non-tier Dashers: up to 1 day in advance
What “X days in advance” means:
If you can schedule “3 days in advance,” you can book shifts starting 3 days out and also any day closer than that, including the day of, as long as shifts are still available.
What time do new shifts appear?
New shifts generally post around 3:00 PM ET each day for the newly available scheduling day.
Because shifts can be released in stages, you may also see additional shifts appear later, including closer to the day you want to work.
Why do I see different availability in different NYC areas?
During pilots or staged rollouts, scheduling rules can vary by zone. That means you might see:
Some areas with shifts available only a few days out, and
Other areas showing shifts further out
If you’re switching between zones, the number of days you can see may change.
Tips to get shifts
Check around 3:00 PM ET when new shifts typically drop - we recommend checking for your zone and day, every day until the day of.
If you don’t see a shift, it may be because all available slots were already taken-try checking again later, since more shifts can appear.
Consider looking at nearby zones if you’re able to work there.
