Guide to the New York City Dasher E-bike Trade-In Program

This year, in response to a new law in New York City, DoorDash is giving away 1,600 brand-new, UL-certified e-bikes to New York City Dashers who trade in an eligible device. Please note that supplies are limited and not all Dashers who apply will receive an e-bike through this program.

NYC Dasher E-Bike Trade-In Program: A Deeper Look

The NYC Dasher E-Bike Trade-In Program provides select 1,600 active NYC Dashers with brand-new, UL-certified Dirwin Pacer Lite e-bikes at no cost, in exchange for trading in their existing eligible device (an uncertified e-bike, scooter, moped, or battery).

If you dash in NYC, see below to find out if your device is trade-in eligible, and learn about how you can apply to receive a free Dirwin e-bike.

  1. Complete the Dasher Device survey. Look for the survey from DoorDash sent to your Dasher email and complete the survey with detailed information about your device. Please double-check that your submission is clear and accurate.

  2. Wait for submissions to be reviewed. All information you submit will be reviewed and verified to determine whether your device is trade-in eligible. Device eligibility criteria are determined by New York City law – not by DoorDash or Dirwin. Please check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section below for more information about eligible devices.

  3. Selected Dashers will be notified. If you are selected, you will receive an email from DoorDash with instructions on how to claim a free Dirwin Pacer Lite e-bike and trade in your eligible device.

  4. Delivery and trade-in. Dirwin will call you to schedule delivery of the new e-bike to the address you provide. Before receiving the new Dirwin e-bike, be present with your ID, have your eligible device ready, and provide it to the Dirwin delivery representative at the agreed-upon delivery time.

Disclaimer: Completing the Dasher Device survey and applying does not guarantee participation in the NYC Dasher E-Bike Trade-In Program. Not all Dashers who apply will be selected to receive an e-bike.
