DoorDash for NRS Merchants
Overview
The DoorDash integration for NRS connects your NRS Order Management system directly to DoorDash Marketplace, so local customers can discover your store and order alcohol and other eligible items for same-day delivery. Everything is managed through the NRS tools you already use — accessed via your NRS Merchant Portal (mystore.nrsplus.com/merchant) — with no extra hardware required. Your NRS POS remains the source of truth for catalog, inventory, and orders.

Before You Begin
Eligibility
The DoorDash integration for NRS is built for liquor and alcohol retailers running the NRS Order Management system.
Store Type — select Liquor Store (may also appear as Alcohol) when enabling your integration — this determines the correct commission package and setup on DoorDash's side.
Contract Status — whether you're new to DoorDash or already have a signed contract determines which onboarding path you follow — both are covered below.
Connect Your NRS Store to DoorDash
Follow these steps to enable the integration in NRS, then complete setup in the DoorDash Merchant Portal.
Enable the Integration in NRS
From your NRS Merchant Portal (mystore.nrsplus.com/merchant), open Order Management. The integration cannot be enabled from your POS terminal directly — it must be done through the Merchant Portal.
Go to the Integrations tab and click Integrate with DoorDash.
In the popup window, enter the integration code provided by NRS, then click Apply. Applying the code also gives consent to share your store information with DoorDash.
When you see “Almost Ready! Complete DoorDash Setup,” click Go to DoorDash to continue onboarding.

You Don't Need These
On this screen you may also see options to get a DoorDash software license or NRS Pay. Neither is required for the DoorDash integration — you can ignore them and continue with Go to DoorDash.
Note
From this point on, you'll complete onboarding — including signing your DoorDash contract and tracking progress — inside the DoorDash Merchant Portal, not NRS.
Complete Setup in the DoorDash Merchant Portal
New to DoorDash? (Self Serve Integration Onboarding)
If you don't yet have a signed DoorDash contract, you'll land on the DoorDash account setup flow:
Enter basic store information and click Create Account.
Select your store type — choose Liquor Store (or Alcohol). This determines your commission package and setup.
Enter your store hours — the same for every day, or set independently. You can update these anytime in the Merchant Portal.
Choose a commission package: Basic, Plus, or Premium.
Enter your banking and legal tax information, then select Finish Setup to complete your DoorDash account setup.
Track progress on your Merchant Portal's Activation Tracker. You decide when to activate your DoorDash Marketplace store and start receiving orders.

Already on DoorDash? (Existing Merchants)
If you already have a signed DoorDash contract:
Log in to your Merchant Portal.
Select which DoorDash store you intend to integrate — this automatically matches it to the partner store from your onboarding request, so integration steps begin immediately.
You'll be redirected to your Merchant Portal home page to track real-time integration status. There's no downtime to current operations while the integration is configured, and you're activated automatically once every step completes.

When Will My Integration Go Live?
Most merchants are ready to activate about 5 days after enabling the integration from both the NRS POS and the DoorDash Merchant Portal — this covers the time to build your integrated catalog and configure the connection to your DoorDash account. Once complete, the DoorDash tile in your NRS POS shows a green checkmark with the activation date.
Prepare Your Store
Store Hours
Your DoorDash store hours are pulled from your Online Ordering Hours in NRS.
In Order Management, go to Online Ordering Hours (top of the page).
Set your hours.
Click Save Changes to apply — hours won't update on DoorDash until you save.

Add a Markup % to Your DoorDash Prices
You can apply a price markup for items sold through DoorDash, separate from your in-store pricing.
Go to the Integrations tab within Order Management.
Click into DoorDash.
Set your desired markup in the Price Increase field (maximum 20%).

Note
Markup applies to all items listed on DoorDash — it isn't configurable item by item.
Adjusting Order Notification Volume
Select the Tools tile from your NRS Portal or register.
Click Store Setup on the bottom bar.
Select the Hardware tab, then adjust the order notification volume using the slider.

Managing Inventory
Item Availability Statuses
Any item with a positive balance on hand, or that has sold within the last 90 days, will be available on DoorDash unless you set it otherwise. Every item is in one of four states:
Active — displayed and available for sale on DoorDash.
Inactive — not displayed or available for sale on DoorDash.
Hidden — hidden from sale on DoorDash, even if it's in stock.
Out of Stock — not displayed on DoorDash because it's out of stock.

Hiding an Item from DoorDash
Click the Items tab within Order Management.
Search for the item by UPC or name.
Click the three dots next to the Display Status column and select Hide From Ecommerce.

Managing DoorDash Orders
Accepting Orders
DoorDash orders appear in the Manage Orders tab within Order Management.
New orders can be accepted — and preparation started — by selecting Start.
Accepted orders move to In Progress, where you can view and edit items.
If an order includes age-restricted items, it moves to Action Required and waits there for customer ID verification before it can proceed.

Viewing Order Details & Marking Orders Ready
Select an order to see its items, customer name, time placed, and other details. Once it's picked and ready, select Mark Order Ready — this notifies both DoorDash and the customer.

Editing or Substituting an Item
Select the pencil icon next to an item to edit it. Items can be marked unavailable or substituted if out of stock.

Note
If an item is out of stock, call the customer first to try a substitution before marking it unavailable.
Viewing DoorDash Sales & Order History
Statistics tab — DoorDash sales and order volume appear alongside your other sales channels, filterable by date range.
Order History tab — filter specifically for DoorDash orders by setting the source filter to DoorDash.

Troubleshooting & Support
If something isn't working as expected, start with the table below.
Issue | Likely Cause | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
Items not showing on DoorDash | Item status is Inactive, Hidden, or Out of Stock | ✔️ Check the item's Display Status in the Items tab and confirm it's Active with available inventory. |
Order stuck in Action Required | Age-restricted item awaiting customer ID verification | ✔️ The order stays in Action Required until customer ID verification is complete; contact NRS support if it doesn't clear. |
Integration not going live after ~5 days | Catalog build or account configuration still in progress | ✔️ Check your Activation Tracker in the DoorDash Merchant Portal or outstanding steps; contact NRS support if all steps show complete. |
Prices on DoorDash don't match markup setting | Price Increase field not saved, or set above the 20% maximum | ✔️ Recheck the Price Increase field under Integrations → DoorDash and re-save. |
Contacting NRS Support
Once your integration is live, all inventory and pricing on DoorDash is controlled through your NRS POS. For help updating inventory or pricing, contact NRS support through your NRS Merchant Portal or your usual NRS support channel.
