DoorDash for BottlePOS Merchants

10 min read

Overview

The DoorDash integration for BottlePOS connects your BottlePOS system directly to DoorDash Marketplace, so local customers can discover your store and order alcohol and other eligible items for same-day delivery. Setup is initiated from your BottlePOS Admin Portal, and once connected, your BottlePOS catalog and pricing automatically stay in sync with DoorDash. BottlePOS will not receive orders directly from DoorDash.

BottlePOS

Before You Begin

Minimum Catalog Requirements

Before starting the DoorDash integration, your store's catalog must meet the following minimum requirements. BottlePOS will not allow onboarding to begin until these are satisfied.

  • Your store must have at least 200 items, each containing:

  • Item name

  • UPC / Stockcode

  • Size

  • "Do Not Show to Webstore" disabled

Tip

Adding brand names and accurate sizing will speed up how quickly your items go live.

Important

If your store is still in the BottlePOS onboarding process, please wait until your BottlePOS Implementation Associate has completed your final inventory data import before you attempt to integrate with DoorDash.

How Long Activation Takes

How Listing Works

Inventory is broken into three levels: Category Groups → Categories → Items. If any of the three levels has "Do Not Show to Webstore" checked, those items will not be listed on DoorDash.

Important

To list an item on DoorDash, ensure the item, the category it's in, and the category group it's in are all unchecked for "Do Not Show to Webstore." Start at the top with category groups, then categories, then items.

Enabling Category Groups

1. On your POS system, click Admin > Items > Categories > Manage Category Group.

2. Uncheck "Do Not Show to Webstore."

Group category

3. Click Update to save.

Important

All items within a category group with "Do Not Show to Webstore" checked will not be listed on DoorDash, even if the categories or items within the group are unchecked or have positive stock.

Enabling Categories

1. On your POS system, click Admin > Items > Categories > Edit.

2. Uncheck "Do Not Show to Webstore."

edit category

3. Click Update to save.

Important

All items within a category that have "Do Not Show to Webstore" checked will not be listed on DoorDash, even if items within the category are unchecked or have positive stock.

Enabling Items

All items with a positive quantity on hand will be available to be listed on DoorDash.

1. On your POS system, click Admin > Items > Items > Edit Item.

2. Click Options on the top toolbar.

3. Check/uncheck "Do Not Show to Webstore."

Edit item

4. Click Update on the bottom right to save.

Important

Items with "Do Not Show to Webstore" checked will not show up on DoorDash, even with positive stock and the category group / category unchecked.

Marking Items In or Out of Stock

Items are automatically marked in stock when the quantity on hand is above 0, and automatically marked out of stock when the quantity on hand gets to 0 or below.

1. On your POS system, click Admin > Items > Items > Edit Item.

2. Update the Qty On Hand field to any number greater than 0 for in-stock, or exactly 0 for out-of-stock items.

3. Click Update on the bottom right to save.

Bulk Updating "Do Not Show to Webstore"

If items are not appearing on DoorDash, the most common cause is "Do Not Show to Webstore" being enabled in one or more places within your inventory setup.

Option 1 — Mass Disable (Recommended)

BottlePOS offers a mass disable option that resets the "Do Not Show to Webstore" setting across Category Groups, Categories, and Items all at once.

1. Navigate to Admin Portal > Settings > General Settings > DoorDash > "Do Not Show to Webstore" > Reset Setting.

2. A confirmation prompt appears explaining this action will reset all Category Groups, Categories, and Items. Select Yes to confirm.

Confirmation promp

3. After selecting Yes, you should receive a confirmation message.

This is the fastest and most comprehensive way to resolve visibility issues when multiple items or categories are impacted.

Option 2 — Bulk Update by Item (Item-Specific Only)

You can also use the existing Bulk Update workflow to remove "Do Not Show to Webstore" from items only.Update inventory counts only when the Balance on Hand (BOH) does not reflect actual stock.

Confirming Inventory After Updates

Use this option when you only need to update specific items, and Category Groups and Categories have already been reviewed and confirmed as enabled. This process only applies to Items — it does not update Category Groups or Categories. If "Do Not Show to Webstore" is enabled in a Category Group or Category, items will still not appear on DoorDash, even after completing this bulk update.

Important Limitation

  • Items must have a BOH greater than 0 to appear as active on DoorDash.

  • Items with BOH = 0 are considered out of stock and will be sent to DoorDash as Inactive.

  • No need to add placeholder inventory values.

If an item's BOH of 0 is accurate, no inventory changes are required — focus only on removing "Do Not Show to Webstore" from the applicable Category Groups, Categories, or Items.

Need Support?

If you encounter issues making updates, or are unsure which areas are impacted, the most
accurate and fastest way to resolve this issue is to contact BottlePOS Support directly. Once
BottlePOS has completed the updates, retry the DoorDash inventory sync.

FAQ & Support

Frequently Asked Questions

Question

Answer

How does DoorDash know if an item is in or out of stock?

Qty = 0 → Out of stock. Qty > 0 → In stock. Qty < 0 but sold in the last 90 days → In stock.

How can I change the price of an item on DoorDash?

DoorDash uses your BottlePOS prices. To mark up: Admin › Settings › General Settings › DoorDash → Edit "Markup %" → Save. Enable "Round to the 9th" to auto-round to the nearest 9th cent.

How do I prevent certain items from appearing on DoorDash?

Use "Do Not Show to Webstore" in the item/category/category group settings. This hides the item from DoorDash even if it's in stock.

I already have a DoorDash account — do I need to do anything before starting?

No prep needed. Open the onboarding flow, sign in to your existing DoorDash account, and confirm which store to connect.

My onboarding seems stuck — what should I do?

Check status: Admin › Settings › General Settings › DoorDash. Blocked → Contact DoorDash Support and retry. Abandoned → Contact DoorDash Support and retry the onboarding flow.
