What’s happening with my HBO Max benefit?
Your HBO Max benefit through DashPass Annual Plan will be ending. The last day to activate your HBO Max benefit is December 16, 2025.
If you activate HBO Max before December 16, 2025, you’ll continue to have access to your HBO Max benefit until the end of your current DashPass Annual Plan billing cycle (you can find your billing date under “Manage DashPass”). After your billing cycle ends, HBO Max will no longer be included in your DashPass Annual Plan.
When will I lose access?
Starting December 17, 2025, if you’ve already activated your HBO Max benefit, you’ll continue to have HBO Max until the end of your current DashPass Annual Plan billing period. After that, your DashPass Annual Plan membership will continue, but HBO Max will no longer be included.
Why is this changing?
The HBO Max benefit is ending and we’re focused on bringing you the best value through DashPass, including savings on orders, new offers, and exclusive promotions.
Will I still be charged for DashPass?
Yes, you will still be automatically charged for your Annual DashPass plan at the end of your current billing cycle. Your Annual DashPass membership will retain all its other benefits like $0 delivery fees, reduced service fees and member-only promos on eligible orders. .
Can I still keep HBO Max?
Yes, but you’ll need to sign up directly with HBO Max to continue your subscription after your HBO Max access with DashPass ends.
What if I want to cancel my DashPass membership?
You can cancel any time in the app under “Manage DashPass.” But remember, you’ll lose your DashPass benefits and exclusive offers along with HBO Max.
What is the HBO Max x DashPass offer?
Eligible DashPass Annual Plan members in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico) can get access to a HBO Max Basic With Ads subscription, included as part of your DashPass Annual Plan subscription at no additional cost. Gifted and Partnership (e.g., Chase, T-mobile, and Lyft) DashPass subscriptions are DashPass Monthly Plan subscriptions and therefore are not eligible for the HBO Max x DashPass offer.

How do I sign up for the HBO Max subscription through DashPass?
The HBO Max Basic With Ads subscription is currently available for DashPass Annual Plan members only.

Enrolled to Student Plan or other discounted monthly plans | Members need to cancel their current DashPass plan in the “Manage DashPass” page in your DoorDash account, then enroll in DashPass Annual Plan via this link. Members can cancel their plan themselves via Manage DashPass, but they will stay on the plan until their end date and will not be able to transition plans until after their current plan ends. Alternatively, to cancel your DashPass plan immediately, members can contact DoorDash Support here. |
Enrolled to other DashPass Partnerships(Chase Freedom, Chase Slate, Chase Cobrand, Chegg, Roku) | Members need to contact DoorDash Support to request to cancel their current plans immediately if they want to sign up for HBO Max through DashPass Annual Plan. How do I cancel my HBO Max Standard subscription?
Eligible members can cancel their HBO Max Standard Upgrade subscription at any time through the “Manage DashPass” section in your DoorDash account.
Upon cancellation:
You will retain access to the HBO Max Standard Upgrade subscription until the end of your current billing cycle.
After your HBO Max Standard subscription ends, you will continue to enjoy the HBO Max Basic With Ads as long as your DashPass Annual Plan subscription is active.
Please note that HBO Max Standard Upgrade subscription fees are non-refundable except as otherwise stated in the terms.
For Eligible members with an existing HBO Max subscription through a third-party subscription provider, if you complete your purchase of the HBO Max Standard plan via DoorDash, this new subscription will not automatically replace your existing HBO Max subscription. If you do not want multiple subscriptions, you can select a new plan or manage your account at the place of your original HBO Max purchase.
1. How do I cancel my HBO Max Basic With Ads subscription?
Eligible members can cancel their HBO Max Basic With Ads Upgrade subscription at any time through the “Manage DashPass” section in your DoorDash account.
2. How do I fix technical issues with streaming in my HBO Max app?
For issues with HBO Max streaming, contact the HBO Max Help Center.
3. What if I activated my HBO Max Subscription as an eligible DashPass member, but now my HBO Max app is asking me to pay for my subscription?
Restart your HBO Max app, and log out of your HBO Max app and login again. This should resolve the issue. If the issue persists, contact DoorDash Support here.
4. What happens if I cancel my DashPass?
If you cancel your DashPass Annual Plan subscription, your HBO Max Basic With Ads Subscription or HBO Max Standard Subscription will terminate when your DashPass Annual Plan subscription expires (typically at the end of your current DashPass billing cycle). You will receive a prorated refund for any remaining, unused time in your HBO Max Standard Upgrade Subscription that extends beyond the expiration of your DashPass benefits. See questions 4 and 5 for details on cancellation of your HBO Max subscription.
5. Why do I see an additional charge from DashPass by DoorDash?
If you are subscribed to HBO Max Standard through DashPass Annual Plan, you will see a monthly charge for the HBO Max Standard subscription from DoorDash in addition to your DashPass Annual Plan annual charge.
6. If I switch to the T-Mobile plan, will I lose access to my HBO Max subscription that is currently included with Annual Plan from DashPass by DoorDash?
The HBO Max Basic With Ads Plan and the discounted HBO Max Standard Plan are not available with the free DashPass benefit for T-Mobile members. By enrolling in free DashPass benefit for T-Mobile members, you’ll lose any existing access to HBO Max Basic With Ads Plan or HBO Max Standard Plan.
