DashPass Gifting FAQs
1. What is the DashPass gifting feature?
You can now give the gift of DashPass to your friends, family, and loved ones as a 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month membership in the US.
2. What is DashPass?
DashPass is a membership service that offers unlimited deliveries from thousands of eligible restaurants, convenience, and grocery stores with $0 delivery fee and reduced service fees that meet the minimum subtotal, as detailed in the app.
DashPass is currently available in the United States and Canada with some areas excluded. See full terms here.
3. How do I gift a DashPass membership?
New or existing DoorDash account holders can click here to start gifting. First select the number of months you’d like to gift and when you’d like to send your gift. Then input the giftee’s information and submit your payment information.
Note, you must be logged into your DoorDash account to complete the transaction.
4. How long after purchasing a DashPass gifted membership will the gift be delivered to my giftee?
You can choose to schedule your gifted DashPass membership to deliver immediately, or on any date up to 3 months into the future.
5. What makes an order eligible for DashPass benefits?
Things to check before placing an order:
Check the DoorDash app or Doordash.com for restaurants near you that have the green DashPass symbol.
Enjoy a $0 delivery fee and reduced services fees on the eligible restaurant, grocery, and convenience orders that meet the subtotal minimum, as detailed in the app.
DashPass benefits of $0 delivery fee and reduced service fees should immediately apply if the above criteria are met.
6. What happens at the end of my gifted DashPass membership?
All DashPass gifted memberships will automatically enroll into paid monthly DashPass memberships at the end of the gift’s duration (for example, if you gift a 3-month DashPass membership, that membership will convert into a monthly DashPass membership that bills your gift recipient).
7. How do I redeem a gifted DashPass membership?
If you’ve been gifted a DashPass membership and would like to redeem it, you’ll receive an email or text notification from DoorDash on the delivery date specified by the gift sender, which contains the link to redeem your DashPass membership.
8. Does a gifted DashPass membership ever expire if it isn’t redeemed?
No. A gifted DashPass membership that isn’t redeemed will not expire, and your gift recipient will have the opportunity to redeem it at any given date.
9. What if my gift recipient already has a DashPass membership?
If your gift recipient already has a DashPass membership, their gifted months will apply following the completion of their current billing cycle.
Examples:
For Monthly DashPass - if your gift recipient has a monthly DashPass membership, they will receive their gifted months after that current month ends.
For Annual DashPass - If your gift recipient has an annual DashPass membership, their gifted months will apply following the completion of their year.
For Free Trial DashPass - if your gift recipient is on the free month of DashPass trial, they will receive their gifted months after the free month of DashPass ends.
Please note that DashPass members who are currently on a Partnership plan such as Chase, Mastercard, Royal Bank of Canada, or AfterPay plan will not be eligible to apply their gifted DashPass membership until their Partnership DashPass membership ends. Recipients in partner plans have the ability to transfer their gifted DashPass membership to another party.
