1. What benefits do I receive when I sign up for the Student DashPass?

Consumers who sign up for Student DashPass Plan will receive DashPass at a discounted charge of $4.99 a month or $48 annually instead of $9.99 a month or $96 a year. 

2. Can I sign up for the Student DashPass Plan after I am already enrolled in the regular DashPass?

We are currently working on a solution to enable you to switch from a standard DashPass plan to a DashPass for Students Plan in the DoorDash app. In the meantime, the easiest way to switch to a DoorDash Student Plan is to complete your current DashPass subscription and cancel your current subscription prior to the next payment cycle. Once your current payment cycle has concluded, you will be able to enroll in a DashPass Student Plan at the Student Plan price.

Not sure when your payment cycle ends? Follow these steps in your DoorDash app to see when your current payment cycle concludes:

  • In the DoorDash app, click account in the bottom right corner.

  • Under Payment Details you will find the date of your next subscription charge, or when your next payment cycle begins. (This is the date before which you will want to cancel your current subscription.)

3. Who is eligible for a Student DashPass Plan?

This Student Plan is for US,Canadian,Australian and New Zealand customers who are enrolled in a University or Post-secondary school and passes the verification process. 

4. How does DoorDash verify I am a student?

When signing up for the Student DashPass in the DoorDash App, a verification process is included in the app. 

5. What information is needed to get verified for the Student DashPass Plan?

In order to verify on the DoorDash app that you are a student, you will need to provide your  First Name, Last Name, College, Date of Birth and Email Address.

6. What should I do if the auto-verification fails?

If the auto-verification fails, manual verification will be offered to customers. You will be asked to upload one of these school issued documents; transcripts, class schedule, or registration or tuition receipt. These verifications can take up to 24 hours to get processed. We will send an email to users once SheerID finishes reviewing the document. 

7. Why don’t I see the Student DashPass Plan offer in the DoorDash mobile app?

We are currently testing the Student Plan with a small percentage of our US,Canadian,Australian and New Zealand customers, so this plan may not be available to you at this time.

​​​​8. Can I have a Student DashPass Plan on more than one account?

No, each customer may only have 1 DashPass Student Plan because a customer can only be approved once by the verification process.

9. Can I switch my Student DashPass Plan to a different DoorDash account?

Unfortunately, once you are approved for our Student DashPass Plan, you cannot be approved again for a different account. However, you can update your delivery address, payment method and other personal information on that DoorDash account.  

10. What makes an order eligible for DashPass benefits?

Things to check before placing an order:

  1. Check the DoorDash app or Doordash.com for restaurants near you that have the green DashPass symbol.

  2. Make sure your order subtotal meets the minimum requirement:

    • For US - it's $12 or above to receive DashPass Benefits for restaurants or convenience stores, or $25 or above for grocery orders. 

    • For Canada - it's $15 or above to receive DashPass Benefits for restaurants or convenience stores, or $35 or above for grocery orders. 

    • For Australia/New Zealand - it's $20 or above to receive DashPass Benefits for restaurants or convenience stores, or $30 or above for grocery orders. Please note no reduced service fees apply.

  3. DashPass benefits should immediately apply if the above criteria are met. 

11. How do I sign up for the Student DashPass Plan?

Mobile users:

To sign up for Student DashPass on the DoorDash app follow these steps:

  1. Open your DoorDash app

  2. Tap the account icon at the top of the screen

  3. Tap "Get $0 delivery fees with DashPass"

  4. Select “DashPass Student Plan” 

  5. Fill out your personal information for our verification process then select “Verify Student Status”

  6. Choose if you want a monthly or annual plan then select “Get DashPass”

  7. You will get an in-app confirmation after successfully signing up

Web users:

To sign up for Student DashPass on the DoorDash website follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account on the DoorDash website

  2. Select "Account" in the bottom left corner

  3. Tap "Get Free Delivery"

  4. Select “DashPass Student Plan” 

  5. Fill out your personal information for our verification process then select “Verify Student Status”

  6. Choose if you want a monthly or annual plan then select “Get DashPass”

  7. You will get an in-app confirmation after successfully signing up
