What is a Signature Upon Delivery and why am I seeing this option even though there is no Alcohol beverage in my order cart?

This new security feature has been implemented for our customers to avoid the order not being delivered; this is a temporary feature that should disappear once we can confirm your orders are being delivered successfully. Customers will be notified at checkout with a banner informing them that their signature will be required to complete the order once the Dasher arrives to ensure that the order is delivered successfully from DoorDash.

It will be applicable to all orders ( food, beverages, groceries, etc.) regardless of any amount.

How can I add my signature?

Once a Dasher arrives at the drop-off location, the Dasher will be prompted to begin the signature process and will have the Customer sign on the DoorDash App.

Once signed, Customers can now tap the “I Have Received This Order” button to confirm delivery and be instructed to pass the phone back to the Dasher.

What if Customers can’t sign for reasons such as illness or mobility issues?

If a Consumer can't sign for reasons such as illness or mobility issues, they can communicate this with the Dasher and request;

  • Dasher to complete an alternative drop-off method by taking a photo of the drop-off location and waiting 5 minutes.
