Alcohol Delivery Rules for Consumers

As part of our commitment to responsible alcohol delivery, we have in place clear and common sense rules to ensure alcohol is delivered safely and in compliance with law.

Our goal is, and always has been, to enforce these rules fairly and consistently. If we receive a report that a rule has been violated, we investigate it further to understand what happened.

Depending on the nature and severity of the violation by a consumer, DoorDash may take a range of actions including issuing a warning, blocking any further alcohol orders or removal from the platform.

Rules for Consumers

For alcohol delivery, consumers must not:

  • Use a fake ID, expired ID or someone else’s ID.

  • Refuse or decline to provide an ID

  • Order or accept alcohol if they are under the legal drinking age (21 in the US)

  • Harass, threaten or intimidate a Dasher

  • Be intoxicated or under the influence when accepting an alcohol delivery

  • Provide alcohol to anyone under the legal drinking age

There are other requirements of consumers, including being present to collect an alcohol order. Failure to follow these rules will result in an investigation and a corresponding enforcement decision based on the severity of non-compliance.

We appreciate your partnership as we continue our efforts as a leader in the marketplace space as a responsible, safe, and compliant alcohol delivery service.
