User Roles and Permissions
DoorDash Ads Manager allows restaurant advertisers to grant access to multiple users while maintaining control over what each person can see and do.
User roles and permissions are designed to support different responsibilities across your business, like campaign management, reporting, and administrative control, while protecting sensitive account settings and billing information.

Permissions by role
Ads Manager supports three user roles, each designed for a different level of responsibility. Every role can be assigned at the Business, Franchise, or Market level — which determines the scope of access rather than the permissions themselves.
Admin — Full account access including billing, user management, and campaign control. Typically assigned to corporate or franchise leadership responsible for account oversight.
Marketer — Campaign creation and management access. The right role for day-to-day campaign execution, including agencies or external partners.
Analyst — View-only access to reporting and performance data. Commonly used for reporting teams, finance teams, or external partners who need visibility without campaign access.

How roles and entity access work together
A user's access in Ads Manager is defined by two factors:
Role: what the user can do
Entity access: where they can do it
Roles determine permissions, while entity access determines which parts of the business those permissions apply to.
In general:
Permissions control access to campaign creation, reporting, billing, and account settings
Access is scoped to specific entities, such as businesses, franchise groups, or stores
Users can switch between entities they have access to using a single login
How account structure impacts permissions
A user's role determines what they can do. Their entity assignment determines where they can do it.
User Entity | Access |
Business | Access to all brands, franchise groups, franchises, stores, and markets within the business |
Franchise Group | Access only to locations and data within the assigned franchise group |
Franchise | Access only to locations and data within the assigned franchise |
Market (DMA) | Access only to locations and campaigns within the assigned market |
Store | Access only to the assigned store |
