Gifting FAQ’s

You can send family, friends, and loved ones a gift delivery through DoorDash. When you send a gift, you have the ability to customize it with a digital card and gift note. Recipients are notified about their gift 10-15 minutes before the Dasher arrives with their gift. They can also view their card, note, and gift tracking. Recipients do not need a DoorDash account.

How can I place a gift delivery? 

At checkout, look for “send as a gift” option under “Delivery Details.” The “send as a gift” page will contain a wide selection of digital cards animations. You can further personalize your card with a gift message. You will need to provide the recipient name and phone number in case the Dasher needs to contact the gift recipient at time of delivery.

What can I send as a gift?

DoorDash has a wide selection of gift options that you can choose from. Some popular gift categories include:

  • Bakeries 

  • Flowers

  • Groceries  

  • Beauty products

  • Pet treats and toys

Do Dashers deliver gift orders differently from normal deliveries?

DoorDash notifies Dashers through the Dasher app when they are delivering gift orders. This way, they can treat each gift delivery with care and can contact the gift sender or recipient when delivery issues arise. 

What if I don’t know if the recipient is at home? 

If you’re not sure when to send your gift, you can let the recipient decide. When you’re on “Send as a gift” page, you can turn on “Let Recipient Schedule” feature. This feature allows the recipient to schedule their gift up to 2 weeks out from the purchase date. We’ll notify you if the gift recipient hasn’t scheduled their gift delivery within the 2 week schedule period.

Recipient gift link allows recipients to schedule their gift within 2 weeks.

You can purchase gift cards through our purchase site here: https://doordash.launchgiftcards.com/. We currently offer gift cards for customers in the US, Canada, and Australia.
