Why did you make this change? 

To give merchants more built-in growth support as part of Premier on Marketplace.

What if I don’t use one of the benefits?

All benefits are included in your plan. Even if you don’t use one (eg. photo shoot), the others still deliver measurable value.

What happens if I downgrade from Premier to Plus?

You have the flexibility to move between plans. If you downgrade to Plus, you’ll keep its standard features like DashPass eligibility and a lower commission rate, but you’ll no longer have Premier’s added benefits such as automatic ads, professional photography, and tool discounts. The Plus pricing plan also comes with a smaller delivery radius and higher customer fees compared to Premier.

Why is Premier worth 5% more commission than Plus? 

The added benefits (automatic ads, professional photography credits, and discounts on DoorDash Commerce Platform Pro) deliver measurable value in visibility, conversion, and efficiency beyond Plus, in addition to the existing benefits of the Premier pricing plan.

Does the Premier commission % ever change? 

The Premier commission remains 30%, with no additional charges for the included benefits.

Premier Photos Benefit FAQs

What is included in the support for professional photo shoots?  

Premier includes a $200 credit to cover additional costs associated with professional food photography. Depending on your location and availability, this will be in addition to scheduling a free DoorDash photographer to come to your location. 

Do I have to use DoorDash’s photographer? 

Most restaurants will schedule a free photoshoot with a DoorDash photographer if one is available in their area. In addition, all Premier restaurants receive a $200 reimbursement to help cover costs like food and styling. If we don’t have a photographer in your area, you can still use this benefit by arranging your own professional photoshoot. You’ll receive the same $200 reimbursement to offset your costs after uploading 10 high-quality photos to your menu.

When and how do I receive the reimbursement for my photo shoot? 

Your reimbursement will be issued as a store payment in the next payout following the successful upload and approval of your photos. If you are on a free trial, you will receive the reimbursement in the next payout after your free trial ends.

Can I access the $200 credit multiple times? 

This is a one-time credit per eligible menu. This means that if your business has multiple stores with the same menu, you will be issued one $200 credit. A store that has already received the $200 credit will not be eligible to receive it in the future.

Automatic Ads FAQs

Who is eligible for Automatic Ads?

Merchants enrolled in the Premier plan (at a 30% commission rate) are eligible for automatic ads, as a benefit of this plan.

What are automatic ads and how do they work?

Automatic Ads are exclusive to Merchants who are enrolled in the Premier pricing plan (at a 30% commission rate).

  • How it works: Throughout the current month, we'll accrue a percentage of each order’s sales into a fund. On the first day of the following month, the money accrued will be used to fund a new or existing Sponsored Listing ad campaign, boosting your visibility and helping increase your sales on DoorDash (Learn more about Sponsored Listings and how they can help merchants like yourself.)

So to confirm, I'm not getting charged anything additional for the ads?

 Yes, merchants will not get charged any additional fees for the ads as part of the Premier pricing plan

I don’t see a live campaign in Merchant Portal – why hasn’t one started for my business?

Eligible merchants will see a live campaign in their Merchant Portal funded by their Premier pricing plan once they have accrued enough funds; merchants will receive an email confirmation once their campaign is funded.

I don’t want to run a funded Sponsored Listing campaign for my business. How do I stop this?

If you have a Sponsored Listing campaign that is funded in full by the Premier Marketing Fund, contact support for help. Please note that this benefit is provided at no additional cost to you as a benefit of your commission plan. 

If your Sponsored Listing campaign is partially funded by your Premier Marketing Fund (i.e. the Premier Marketing Fund is contributing to a campaign that was originally created by you) you can end your automatic ad campaign at any time by taking the following steps:

1. Navigate to the Campaigns tab of the Merchant Portal.

2. Navigate to the campaign that has the ‘Marketing Fund’ tag.

3. Click the ‘End Campaign’ button in the top right corner.

4. Confirm you want to end the campaign by clicking ‘Yes, end’.

If you want to restart your automatic ad, you can do so by clicking the ‘Restart Campaign’ button on the Campaigns tab of the Merchant Portal.

If you are not interested in having the automatic ads as a benefit of your package, you can downgrade to the Plus package.

DoorDash Commerce Platform Pro Discount FAQ

Do I need to already use DoorDash Commerce Platform Pro to get the discount? 

No. All businesses with >50% of Premier stores are eligible for the discount. The discount applies if you are new to the Commerce Platform or if you upgrade to Pro, though it’s important to consider if these tools are the right fit for your restaurant.

How long am I eligible for the DoorDash Commerce Platform Pro Discount after joining the Premier plan?

The discount is redeemable within the first 6 months of you joining the Premier plan. If you were already on the Premier plan as of November 2025, the discount is redeemable through April 30, 2026.
