What are Vouchers?

Vouchers are an ad-hoc budget-creation solution for admins looking to feed employees or guests for one-time events.

Admins in the Portal will now have access to a single easy-to-use interface within the new Vouchers tab, where they can create, edit and delete one-time budgets (i.e. Vouchers,) control who they are sent to, and even track usage for each one.

How to Create a Voucher

Step 1:

Within the Admin Portal, click the Create Vouchers button.

You can also create new vouchers from within the Vouchers tab.

Step 2:

Once you are within the Create Voucher page, you will be required to:

  • Name your new Voucher

  • Set the amount of participants

  • Set the $$ amount per-person

  • Set the Start and End date(s) (up to 2 months in advance)

  • Enter the Payment Method (or Skip)

Click Create Voucher and you're done!

Sharing Vouchers

Once a new Voucher has been created, admins may send it to their participants in one of 2 ways: unique link (via email) or general link.

NOTE: Once a share option has been chosen (i.e. clicked ‘Continue’) the user can no longer update this. Admins must start a new Voucher with the correct share option.

Unique Link (via Email)

Admins may send individualized links to employee emails directly from the window:

Managing Your Vouchers

Within the new Vouchers tab of your Admin Portal, you can:

  • Edit, Delete and Share existing Vouchers

  • Create new Vouchers

  • and Track usage information within each Voucher you create!

You will notice either an Upcoming, Live or Expired flag under each Voucher:

  • Upcoming means the Date for the Voucher is still in the future, and the Voucher cannot be used yet.

  • Live means the Voucher is currently Active and available for ordering.

  • Expired means the Date for the Voucher has already passed, and the Voucher can no longer be used.

Usage Tracking

In order to access the Usage Tracking page for each Voucher, simply click anywhere on the Voucher (except for the buttons):

Here, you will have access to the following:

  • Voucher info (Name, Budget Per-Person, Start/End Date)

  • Amount of Vouchers Sent/Accepted/Used (Ordered)

  • List of Emails Invited (Unique Link Only) / Accepted / Used (Ordered)

  • Amount Each Participant Spent

  • Amount Spent Overall

Viewing Your Voucher History

The use of Vouchers will appear under your Billing History just like any of your other Expensed Meals orders.

How to Use Your Voucher (for Employees)

Step 1:

Click on the link shared with you, or click 'Accept Voucher' from your email invite.

Step 2:

Confirm your DoorDash account login.

Step 3:

When you've successfully added your Voucher, you will see a confirmation page.

Step 4:

At Checkout, select your Voucher from the 'Company Payment' section under Payment Details.

If you do NOT see the Company Payment section at Checkout, please confirm the following information:

  1. You can see the Voucher available on your Benefits page.

    1. From your DoorDash homepage, click 'Account' from the left sidebar.

      1. MOBILE: Click the circular person icon at the top-right of your screen.

    2. Click 'Benefits' or 'Work Benefits' from under Account Settings.

  2. Your order is from a Restaurant.

    1. Vouchers cannot be used on Retail, Grocery or Convenience merchants.

  3. Your order contains NO alcohol or alcoholic items.

FAQ

Q: I am trying to Share my Voucher with my participants, but am getting an error about adding payment. What should I do?

A: You will not be able to invite users until a Payment Method has been added to the Voucher. Please add a Payment Method to the Voucher before Sharing.

Q: I need to edit the Payment Method for my Voucher, but I see no option to update this on the Edit page. What should I do?

A: In order to change the payment method you wish to use, please visit the Payment Methods tab on the left sidebar of your Portal. This currently can't be updated via the Edit page for Vouchers. For more information, please visit our Payment Methods page.

Q: How long will 'Expired' Vouchers stay on my Vouchers page?

A: Any Voucher you create will remain listed on the Vouchers tab page indefinitely, even after they've expired. Please click the trashcan icon to delete any as necessary.

Q: I accepted a Voucher but it's not showing up on my Checkout page when I order.

A: You can check if the Voucher was successfully accepted by checking your 'Expensed Meals Budgets' under the Benefits tab of your lefthand sidebar. Any budgets meant for that date/time will appear listed here, including Vouchers. If you do not see the Voucher listed here, please contact your team's admin.

Please note: Vouchers can only be used on restaurants, and cannot be used on alcohol, retail, convenience or grocery orders. Please double-check that your order applies.

If you are an admin for your team, we recommend double-checking the Dates set for the Voucher in question. If the dates are correct, and you still aren't seeing the Voucher listed under your Expensed Meals Budgets, please contact us.

Q: I'm trying to share my Voucher, but I'm getting an error. What should I do?

A: The Voucher has been fully accepted by the amount of recipients originally set. Please Edit Voucher to add more recipients.

Q: I sent a voucher to an employee at their work email, but they only have a personal DoorDash account. Do they need to create an account with their work email to access the Voucher?

A: No! Vouchers can be redeemed by employees on personal accounts. For example, if a Voucher is sent to [email protected] it can be redeemed on their existing personal account (i.e. [email protected]) if they are logged into this DoorDash account when they accept the Voucher.

Q: I need to change the share method for my Voucher, but see no option to. How can I swap to share-by-link/share-by-email?

A: Once you’ve chosen to share a Voucher either by link or by email, and clicked ‘Continue’, there is no way to edit this. Please delete the Voucher and/or start a new one to share as needed.

Q: I’m trying to share unique links to my team of 600+, via email, but it doesn’t appear to be working. 

A: Please try sending emails in batches of 500 or less. There appears to be some issue with sending any more than that at one time.
