A Happy Hour Discount is a type of promotion that encourages DoorDash customers to order from your restaurant between 2-5 pm daily. Participating restaurant locations are featured in a highly visible Happy Hour collection on the DoorDash homepage and throughout the app.

Creating a Happy Hour Discount Campaign
Log into the Merchant Portal and visit the Marketing/Run a Campaign tab.
If your store is in an eligible area, you will see a “Happy Hour Discount” card to set up this promotion.
Customer incentive: To attract more customers and ensure a good consumer experience, we encourage selecting your highest possible discount amount for Happy Hour.
On average, restaurants who run a 30% off promotion during Happy Hour can increase sales by more than 15% during the hours of 2-5 pm.*
On average, restaurants who run a 40% off promotion during Happy Hour can increase sales by more than 30% during the hours of 2-5 pm.*
Duration: Earliest start date will be determined by the launch date in your area. You can schedule your campaign ahead of time to participate in the launch or any time after.
Scheduling: Happy Hour will run from 2-5 pm daily, but the campaign will not be active outside your store operating hours.
Stores: If a store is not in the list, it may not be in an eligible area or may already have an existing Happy Hour campaign.
Once you’ve created or scheduled your campaign, you can track results in the Campaign Reporting tab.

Happy Hour is currently available on discounts of 25% off and higher. To attract more customers and ensure a good consumer experience, we encourage selecting your highest possible discount for Happy Hour.

Is there a free trial marketing credit to try Happy Hour?
Trial credit is not available for a Happy Hour campaign. Happy Hour can be complementary to other promotion types to attract more customers from 2-5 pm daily.
What are the marketing costs?
You only pay when a customer places an order through any promotion campaign including Happy Hour. The total marketing cost comprises the :
Customer incentive selected whether it’s a dollar or percentage off per order. This is the value of the incentive or discount that you select and subsidize on behalf of the customer.
Marketing fee of $0.99 per order. This is a flat marketing fee that is paid to DoorDash.
DoorDash commission rate applies to the post-discount order value.
*Parts of the Happy Hour program may not appear in the DoorDash app until there are more participating restaurants open in a given market.
