How do I edit an item's price in the Merchant Portal?

If you manage your menu directly in the Merchant Portal (not through a POS integration), follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal

  2. Select Menu Manager

  3. Under the Overview tab, select the pencil icon next to the item you want to update

  4. Update the item price, then select Save Changes

Keep in mind, Save Changes only appears after you've made an edit. If your store uses dual pricing, you may see separate price fields for pickup and delivery.

How do I update menu prices if I use a POS system?

If your menu is synced through a POS system, price changes must be made in your POS.

What to do

  1. Check with your POS provider for instructions on updating DoorDash menu prices

  2. Update the item prices in your POS system

What to expect

  • Price updates can take up to 24 hours to appear in the Merchant Portal

  • If prices don't update after 24 hours, contact Merchant Support

We recommend matching in-store and delivery prices as closely as possible, but this isn't required. 

If your POS provider doesn't support dual pricing, you can manage pricing directly in the Merchant Portal under Settings Account Settings Menu Pickup and Delivery Rate.

How do I edit prices as a non-restaurant merchant?

If you're a grocery, convenience, retail, or other non-restaurant merchant, the process for editing prices is the same:

  1. Log in to the Merchant Portal

  2. Click on Inventory Manager

  3. Select the three-dot icon to the right of your item, under Actions

  4. Update the pricing, then click Save Changes

If your menu is POS-managed, you can update prices directly in your POS system.

How do tax rates factor into menu prices?

Tax rates are considered on all menu items. Make sure everything you sell on DoorDash is taxed correctly based on your local regulations. Tax laws vary by location, so it's a good idea to review your tax settings regularly.
